Allen got away with one there in that frame. What was Kyren doing with that straight pink? He nearly missed the jaws.

Frame 4: Mark Allen 2-2 Kyren Wilson

Callum Rowe: This is the most fascinating Masters final in years. So difficult to describe. Both players look like they’ve been in major finals for years.

  7. 'Missed pink may be debilitating for Wilson'published at 15:25 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2018

Frame 4: Mark Allen 2-2 Kyren Wilson

    Steve Davis
Six-time UK champion on BBC Two

Kyren hits the ball too hard under pressure sometimes. What that missed pink does for his confidence for the rest of the match is a big question now. It can be debilitating. And it will boost his opponent.

There was some fantastic snooker (and some not fantastic snooker) played by both players in that epic fourth frame. Check out this stunning pot by Kyren Wilson, although he went on to lose the frame.

Frame 4: Mark Allen 2-2 Kyren Wilson

We have a few minutes without any action, so let's catch up with some of the shots from that epic 45-minute frame.

  11. Wilson blows the chance to win frame, Allen takes itpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2018

Frame 4: Mark Allen 2-2 Kyren Wilson (58-49)

Will Kyren Wilson be haunted by that missed pink in frame four? That would have given him a 3-1 lead. But Wilson then leaves the black on, it is straight and Allen sinks it to edge a hard-fought 45-minute frame.

We are back where we started, all level. Two frames each at the mid-session interval.

Frame 4: Mark Allen 1-2 Kyren Wilson

Mark Allen pots the pink ball and we have a black-ball frame. 51-49. Whoever pots the last ball will take the longest frame of the tournament.

  13. Postpublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2018

Frame 4: Mark Allen 1-2 Kyren Wilson

That should be 3-1 to Wilson at the break. He only needs the pink, he gives it far too much welly and it stays out. A bad, bad miss.

  14. 'Longest frame of the tournament so far'published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2018

Frame 4: Mark Allen 1-2 Kyren Wilson

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC Two

Believe it or not, this is now the longest frame of the tournament, beating a frame in the John Higgins against Anthony McGill match.

Frame 4: Mark Allen 1-2 Kyren Wilson

Both players feeling the tension out there. Allen holds a 45-37 lead with only the green, brown, blue, pink and black on the table. This is the last frame before a mid-session interval. It has taken more than 40 minutes already. And probably a lot more to come.

Frame 4: Mark Allen 1-2 Kyren Wilson

We have had wasp distractions and now mobile phone distractions. Three times a phone goes off as Kyren Wilson is about to shoot. Someone is escorted from the arena, but Wilson shouts for the person involved to be allowed back into the arena at the end of the frame.

  17. 'Tension in final frame of the session'published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2018

Frame 4: Mark Allen 1-2 Kyren Wilson

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC Two

In a final you always set your stall out to win the first session. It is a very tense frame before they go into the interval here. It may be the best of 19, but both players are missing balls they wouldn't normally miss because they know how crucial it is early on.

Frame 4: Mark Allen 1-2 Kyren Wilson

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

This is the first real scrappy frame Mark Allen has been involved in during this tournament that I can think of. There certainly weren't any in his games against John Higgins and Ronnie O'Sullivan.
