    Peter Fleming
Seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC TV

"That was a really solid performance from Tomas Berdych. Bernard Tomic was unbelievable in the first set but after dropping the he fell away in the third and wasn't able to get around court as quickly as needed. That allowed Berdych to take control from the back of the court and he did. He will be tough to beat."

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

"Needless to say, all credit to Stepanek. I can't believe he is still in this match. This whole set Djokovic wanted it done. He has got to keep playing now. Unbelievable. Novak is understandably frustrated it is not over. The crowd went crazy because of what his opponent has just done. He has got to accept that - and he will."

Yep, you've read that headline right. Against all the odds, Radek Stepanek has won the third set on a tie-break. Even more impressively, he won five points on the bounce, with Novak Djokovic slipping over not once, but twice. Baton down the hatches, we could be in for a long night.

  7. Nadal v Rosol - the rematchpublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 25 June 2014

In between dishing out coffee to those in the ticket queue this morning, Rafael Nadal's coach and uncle Toni Nadal discussed the Spaniard's match against Lukas Rosol, a rematch of their 2012 encounter when Rosol secured a shock win, which takes place tomorrow.

"That defeat cannot affect the match," said uncle Toni. "It's a different Rafa Nadal than two years ago. A better Rafa Nadal. In 2012, he had many problems when he arrived at Wimbledon.

"But now he has good movement and not much pain. He is the number one in the world and that should give him some confidence."

  12. Twitter Q&A with Tim Henmanpublished at 18:25 British Summer Time 25 June 2014

    Tim Henman

Former British number one Tim Henman has just done a Twitter Q&A. Here is a selection of your questions and Tim's answers.

Ian asks: What is the key to Rafa feeling comfortable on grass again?

Tim answers: First and foremost his body. If his knees are ok and he can get through the first week, he has a great chance.

Andrea Ramus asks: Tim, if you could play doubles with anyone on the tour who would you choose and why?

Tim answers: Roger Federer. We played together in the past and any time you can have him on your side of the net has to be a good thing.

Ian Rhodes asks: Who was harder to play Sampras or Federer?

Tim answers: Federer. Sampras was in an era where the courts were much faster & that suited me. Federer plays where it's slower.

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

"Stepanek is throwing the kitchen sink at Djokovic, trying to get a lead in this third set somehow. He is trying to move forward as much as he can but it is awfully tough to do against guys like Djokovic."

  15. Postpublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 25 June 2014

"Ooohs" and "Ahhs" ring out around Centre Court as Radek Stepanek scampers around the court trying to keep himself in the rally. The Czech's resistance eventually breaks and he throws himself onto the floor, partly for comedy value and partly because he's shattered after that point. Thereafter, he catches his breath and summons enough energy to hold serve. Djokovic must serve to stay in the set.

  16. Postpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 25 June 2014

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

"Novak's serve during this entire match has really allowed him to keep the pressure on Stepanek. Most of the time he has been holding really easily. When Stepanek has had a couple of chances he hasn't taken them."

  18. Watson faces biggest challengepublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 25 June 2014

Heather Watson is enjoying something of a renaissance, after a diagnosis of glandular fever in April 2013 had a devastating effect on her form.

The Briton beat a top-20 player for the first time last week in Eastbourne and then losing just five games on her way to victory in the Wimbledon first round.

She now faces the biggest challenge of her career - a meeting with ninth seed Angelique Kerber for a place in the third round.

BBC Sport's Sam Sheringham asked former British number ones Anne Keothavong and Jo Durie to explain the reasons for Watson's resurgence and it makes for interesting reading. Check it out here or on the tennis pages.

A galling defeat for David Ferrer, but the bandana-ed Spaniard, seeded seven, couldn't force home the advantage when he had it - he took just four of the 11 break points he fashioned during the gruelling five setter.

Add to that hitting only 26 winners to Andrey Kuznetsov's 77, and that strange 0-6 meltdown in the second set, and it's a real recipe for an early exit.

    And so it proved.
