  1. John McEnroe Q&Apublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 26 June 2014

    BBC Radio 5 live

On Luis Suarez: "In baseball we have three strikes you're out. This guy has done this three times, he can't help himself. He's a great football player there is no doubt about that."

Next big American player? "I always thought John Isner would do well at Wimbledon, anyone who served that big should be able to do something. I have a good kid Noah Rubin playing at my junior academy. Tony Mo's son, Michael Moe, keep an eye on him."

John McEnroe now reveals that he and Boris Becker have a dinner riding on the result of today's World Cup clash between USA and Germany.

Hate to say it John, but I think that Boris might be searching around for the priciest fillet and Chateauneuf du Pape in London town.

  4. John McEnroe Q&Apublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 26 June 2014

    BBC Radio 5 live

Here are some of the John McEnroe's early answers to listeners' questions. It is worth tuning in though just to hear him wrestle with the pronunciation of callers' home towns.

Grunting by tennis players? "It's necessary when you're over 50 but I don't get it here. Some might think it's cool because you feel they are into it but often it's way too much."

Coaching role?: "I would consider it, not a full time job 30 or 40 weeks a year but part time.

"Another of my six children is about to go to college so that leaves only one now, so in a couple of years time my wife is going to be begging me to take a coach's job."

He is currently laying into a caller, questioning their analysis of tonight's United Stats v Germany World Cup action.

BBC Weather's Carol Kirkwood: "It's high cloud and it will break and there will be some sunny intervals, with temperatures around 19 or 20. Even into the evening it should stay dry, the light may deteriorate and then after dark there will be some rain around but that won't affect us here of course. Pollen levels will be going down over the next couple of days."

    Laura Robson
Injured British number two on BBC TV

(On facing Heather Watson's opponent today Angelique Kerber) "When I played her (in 2011) I hadn't won a match at Wimbledon so I was super nervous and we were on an outside court. Angie has won a couple of titles since then and has kept that form. She moves extremely well and can keep the rally going. Heather has to be really aggressive, like she was in the first round, and not get caught up in the situation."

    Lawrence Barretto
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

"Britain's Heather Watson, who meets 2012 semi-finalist and ninth seed Angelique Kerber in the second match on Centre Court, is down at the practice courts for a morning hit.

"She kicks off with 15 minutes of stretching and resistance work which involves using a small medicine ball, a resistance band and a foam roller - but not all at the same time."

Andy Murray is currently down on the Wimbledon practice courts to do some homework ahead of tomorrow's third-round meeting with Roberto Bautista Agut.

What does he get up to post playing though? Well, his Wimbledon dinners are on a three-day cycle, he takes his bananas mashed and between bagel halves and just occasionally he catches some tennis.

    John Lloyd
Former British number one on BBC TV

"It's the toughest thing in our sport - men's or women's - to come back from winning the French to winning Wimbledon. Next year there will be a three-week gap but it's still unbelievably tough. I think Rafa will be okay today but it's a dangerous match for him.

"Roger Federer you can't write off, but Gilles Muller is also dangerous opponent for him. The talk is all Djokovic and Murray but Feds has got Edberg in his corner and he is looking good."

Uncle Toni might sound like the face of a pizza restaurant, but Rafael Nadal's coach was handing out cups of Wimbledon's official coffee earlier this week.

While he was doing so, my colleague Lawrence Barretto grabbed a few words with him on today's match.

"That defeat cannot affect the match," said Toni. "I think Rafa is better now than he was in 2012."

(Re Rosol's win over Nadal two years ago) "It was one of those stunning matches. Rosol was seeing it like a football and you were thinking 'it can't go on' but it did. Rosol didn't care who he was playing that day and he was in the zone from beginning to end."
