Roger Federer has clearly decided he is not going to sit back and trade with Novak Djokovic. The Swiss is playing plenty of points north of the service line, puffing out his chest and making himself look as big as possible at the net.

It works this time with Djokovic unable to thread the needle down the line.

Meanwhile Australian actor Chris Hemsworth - better know as Thor - is getting distracted.

Cheer up Boris. Maybe he forget to bring in some peanuts in case of a five-set five-hour epic. Nothing to upset the German legend on court as his charge Novak Djokovic holds to love.

Roger Federer spent almost a decade at Wimbledon shuttling side to side, without ever really having to move up and down the court. He is making up for it today.

Twice he charges into the net, but twice Novak Djokovic bests him as the Swiss is taken to deuce.

He survives with some crafty serves out wide, but the seven-time champ is working up more of a sweat so far.

  9. GB's Whiley wins wheelchair doublespublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 6 July 2014

    Sam Sheringham
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

"Jordanne Whiley looks skywards then heads over to her partner Yui Kamiji for a long embrace. She shakes hands with her opponents before looking around to soak up the magical moment and wave to a hugely appreciative court 17 crowd.

"It was a nail-biting final set with Whiley and Kamiji pegged back from 5-3 to 5-5 by Dutch pair Jiske Griffioen and Aniek Van Koot, but they broke serve in the 11th game before Whiley served out the match. Fantastic scenes."

Roger Federer presses the net to win his first point for 30-15 and the cheers that greet his deft drop-volley suggest that he has most of the support in Centre Court.

He makes a second foray to the net at 40-15. Nothing for the Fed heads to cheer about this time. A rapier backhand down the line from Djokovic pings the line.

The top seed will enjoy trying to disappoint the majority.

  11. Vote resultpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 6 July 2014

Well, the votes are in, you've had your say and here's the result...

A massive 63% of you think this is Roger Federer's year, and that he'll win an unprecedented eighth Wimbledon men's title.

Just 37% say Novak Djokovic will lift the trophy for the second time in his career.

Will the final itself be that one-sided?

    Jimmy Connors
Two-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

"You longevity is what you are judged on as well as the number of Grand Slams you win. Roger has been around 15 years but I don't think that is enough for him, he is a great ambassador for the sport but on the other hand Novak Djokovic wants to get rid of him and also win some more Grand Slams of his own, so I am loving these little angles."

The Duke of Cambridge is musing over where to place his pre-match punt. He and his wife have the best seats in the house, front and centre in the Royal Box.

They are behind the server's arm so no fidgeting though. That server will be Novak Djokovic in the first game. We are ready for the off.

Britain's Jordanne Whiley and her partner Yui Kamiji from Japan have won the women's wheelchair doubles title with a superb performance against Jiske Griffioen and Aniek Van Koot.

They lost the first set but came back in style to beat their Dutch opponents 2-6 6-2 7-5 on court 17.

It is the pair's third Grand Slam title of the year.
