  1. Bemelmans 3-6 2-6 5-4 Murray*published at 18:16

Murray is fired up and he wins the first point of the game as he lobs Bemelmans after the Belgian smothers the net following another drop shot.

A clean winner from Bemelmans makes it 15-15 before a stunning stooped angled half volley puts him ahead in the game.

An ace makes it 40-15 and it is game as Murray goes long. A great game by the Belgian.

Andy Murray is in full throttle now.

Well he was, until netting a howler at 30-0.

Bemelmans is grimly hanging on and levels at 30-30 as Murray again slips up, firing long.

An ace settles Murray's nerves and he levels the set as Bemelmans misses with a backhand.

The drop shot is turning into a major weapon for Bemelmans as another deft touch makes it 15-15.

One too many though as the Belgian tries another and it plops into the net. Can Murray break straight back?

A backhand winner down the line gives him the chance...

The first break point is saved by a booming serve by Andy Murray, met with jeers by the Belgians.

But the home crowd are now cheering as Murray slices wide and the break is won.

Maybe that warning in the previous game got to the Brit. A lifeline for Belgium though.

This is getting a tad tense. Belgium's captain is not getting a warning for the noise coming from the home crowd.

Another drop shot winner from Bemelmans. Not many players do that so often to Andy Murray.

The Belgian then volleys a winner at the net to go 0-30. He isn't out of this yet and it's break point as he smashes a winner down the line. Three break points.

The referee has a chat at the break with Andy Murray about his earlier warning for 'audible obscenities'.

Time to put it behind you Andy.

A point penalty is handed to Murray, after being warned earlier, as he lets his disgust known for netting an attempted drop shot - having already lost the first point of the game.

Captain Leon Smith and Murray are not happy but their complaints fall upon deaf ears.

Bemelmans though struggles to take advantage as a double fault takes the game to deuce.

He then misses an easy-looking overhead at advantage before netting to gift Murray break point. Murray passes the chance up and, after a few deuces, Belgium take the game.

Mr H: Does anyone else think Murray gets more positively fired up for Davis Cup tennis than the rest of the year's matches? #pumped

Alex, Fleet: Would it have made more sense to have played Murray first today to give him more time to recover for the doubles? Then he would play second on Sunday to give him more time to recover from the doubles?

A whipped cross-court forehand is too good from Murray as Bemelmans nets on the opening point, before the Brit hammers another forehand away for a clean winner.

It's game point after a swerving ace. Bemelmans saves the first of three with a volley but a forehand from the Belgian hits the top of the net to fall back on his side of the court.

    Game Murray.

What a point that is. At 15-15, the players become embroiled in a sensational rally, that ends in them trading drop shots and Andy Murray winning out.

He can sense a break but Bemelmans responds by passing the Brit at the net.

He has no response to Murray's driving forehand winner down the line but saves break point as a scrambling Murray nets.

The Belgian is still fighting as Murray goes long to give him the game.

This match isn't over yet. Don't forget Kyle Edmund was leading 2-0 against David Goffin earlier, before losing.

Surely the same won't happen to Andy Murray though. Not judging by that game. Exemplary stuff from the Brit as he wins the game to love.

  17. 'It fell away quickly' - Edmundpublished at 17:33 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2015

    Kyle Edmund

Kyle Edmund speaking on BBC Two: "It was a good experience. I am disappointed, I could not get it done. I just have to learn from it and try and move on. The momentum switched as he got tough with me and I got passive. Then it fell away quickly, but in the first two sets my level was high.

"It was very intense and hot out there and the crowd was very loud.  I thought I did well out there. I spoke to my dad who said he was disappointed for me, but proud."

The Belgian crowd appear a bit dispirited now, while the away fans are in party mode.

Bemelmans is looking a tad shaky himself as a weak volley into the net and a long forehand see Murray take the opening game of the third set to deuce.

Fair play the Belgian though as he sets up game point with a forehand down the line and his serve is held with an ace.
