Is this the game in which the David Goffin serve finally cracks under the tide of Murray pressure?

A brilliant instinctive pick-up half-volley drop-shot brings up 15-30 and raises expectation and hope on the British bench.

David Goffin puts away a smash at the second time of asking for 30-30 though, before Murray pushes long to hand over 40-30.

And then Goffin smites a superb forehand down the line for clean winner.

The wait for a breakthrough or a slip-up in this second set continues.

Another Andy Murray service game, another whistle-stop hold.

He does not look like being broken this side of midnight.

David Goffin got into a rally at 30-0, but twanged the wire as he tried to keep the ball flat and low in an exchange on the backhand wing.

A big ace from Murray as the Scot clocks off.

"Allez Dav-veed" chants the Belgian fan with the megaphone between points.

That seems to do the trick. A much more comfortable ride for the home man as Andy Murray dumps a couple of returns into the net.

David Goffin must feel like he is permanently on serve.

After a 10 minute plus saga on his own tee-off, Andy Murray rattles through a service game in twinkle, holding to love in a handful of strokes like an early-nineties serve-volley giant.

That was a great game of tennis and Goffin, you just feel he has to win these. He was under enormous pressure, got himself through it, and that is to his eternal credit.

    *Goffin 3-6 1-1 Murray

Andy Murray scoops up a drop-volley with a spurt of speed from the back of the court and manages to keep the deft hands needed to drop in a winner around Goffin.

Break point Murray for a second time in the game.

And he is knocked back again. Murray could have done with a bit more attack in that rally. Ten minutes on the clock for this game.

Andy Murray bets the house on a big forehand on break point.

Not this time old chap. Just a smidge wide.

But the Briton is going for the jugular and that is a good sign.

A confident, positive Murray is the best sort.

A bit of fraternal tension. Andy Murray delivers a blast Jamie's way after being irritated by his sibling's decision to stand up at the end of the court and in his eyeline.

Fitness trainer Matt Little is dispatched to reel in Jamie back to a safe position and Andy responds by taking Goffin to deuce with a big forehand.

The interruptions from the stands have calmed down, but there is still the odd wail in the distance from the bar area.

Strip away the prize on offer and the party in the stands, and the action on court is going as expected, with Murray the heavyweight to Goffin's middleweight, able to snuff out danger by finding big serves at the right time. A new set brings fresh hope for the home fans though.

More thunderous serving from Andy Murray as he rains down bolts like an ancient god.

Without that weapon, Goffin would stand a much better chance. As it is, Murray has a plentiful supply of free points to snuff out his opponent.
