You can tell old Andy is back because the shouts of "come on!" are getting louder and louder.

He wins a long rally with a frankly ridiculous diagonal drop shot, and hastily holds serve.

"This has been fabulous drama. Murray is now in the position to put this match away but Bourgue has been superb so take nothing for granted."

Bob Bobert: Murray cannot afford 5 setters against weaker players - he needs to knuckle down and beat these guys straight.

Jack: Is Andy Murray trying to set a record for most sets taken to win a slam?

T: I think his performance thus far answers the BBC's question of whether Murray could be the new "King of Clay".

Do you think we jinxed him with thisheadline?

    Murray 6-2 2-6 4-6 5-2 Bourgue*

Ay up, is there more trouble ahead for Murray? It's 15-30.

The pair go toe-to-toe at the net and the Scotsman wins the point with a perfect drop shot.

A sweet backhand down the tramline makes it 40-30 and Murray holds after Bourgue fails to return.

    *Murray 6-2 2-6 4-6 4-2 Bourgue

Bourgue's just smacked himself on the forehead with frustration as Murray levels 30-30. The Frenchman really doesn't want to undo all his good work.

But Murray is back in business. A sensational forehand squeaks into the corner to earn him break point.

We draw back to deuce after Murray hits out.

Bourgue's ace down the middle gives him the advantage and he finds a winner to hold. That should calm him down a bit.

Murray's back on it. He's back in the game.

The Scotsman holds his serve to love. That's more like it from the second seed.

    *Murray 6-2 2-6 4-6 3-1 Bourgue

A little dummy from Bourgue has got Murray riled. Grrrrrrr. Can he use his anger in the right way?

Small, but significant, errors are creeping into Bourgue's game and Murray has break point.

Murray snatches it. And now he roars!

Do we spy a recovery from Monsieur Murray?

The British number one holds his serve with relative ease.

Maybe a T-shirt change was all he needed?

    Isner 6-4 6-4 6-4 Edmund

Kyle Edmund's French Open is over in the second round.

It seems the big serve of John Isner was too much as the Briton lost in straight sets.

Edmund had his chances, notably when he got to 0-40 in the sixth game of the second set, but Isner dug himself out of the hole and moves through to a third-round meeting with Teymuraz Gabashvili.

    Bourgue + ace = 30-0

    Murray + net = 40-0

Bourgue + outstanding backhand fired down court = game.

    Simples.

    Murray 6-2 2-6 4-6 1-0 Bourgue*

Murray advantage gone. Back to deuce. Sounds obvious, but the Brit needs to wrap this up sharpish and move on.

A wonderful forehand winner sees him regain the advantage, and Bourgue pulls a shot just wide.

    Murray does hold.

    Murray 6-2 2-6 4-6 0-0 Bourgue*

Murray's activated the same tactic he used against Stepanek. He's changed his shirt colour - this time from black to white.

Doesn't really look like it's helping just yet - Bourgue has two break points.

Murray chalks off one and then chalks off the second with a spectacular forehand. Deuce.

Bourgue has the advantage but a drop shot from Murray negates it.

    Deuce again.

    Barry Flatman
Tennis correspondent for the Sunday Times on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

"Write off the second set as a bad set for Murray but that was tennis of a top-10 player from Bourgue in the third.

"Perhaps he will never play a set of tennis like that again but if he does Murray will be out and packed off to prepare for the grass."

    *Murray 6-2 2-6 4-6 Bourgue

World number 164 and Grand Slam debutant Mathias Bourgue has a 2-1 lead against second seed Andy Murray.

    Fancy that.

The Frenchman seals the second set with a powerful winner down Murray's right-hand side.

What a story this could be.

    Murray 6-2 2-6 4-5 Bourgue*

An incredible, almost acrobatic, rally sees Bourgue move 15-30 clear. He is loving life right now and has absolutely no fear.

The Frenchman takes the game to deuce with a patient forehand winner.

Bourgue hits millimeters wide of the whitewash to hand Murray the advantage and the Scotsman holds. Just.

American John Isner continues to make life hard for Kyle Edmund on court 14.

    *Murray 6-2 2-6 3-5 Bourgue

An overhead smash from Bourgue sends the crowd wild. They are really behind their boy now.

He leads 40-0. Can he hold another service game to love?

    Yes, yes he can.

After a sensational rally the Frenchman pings a delicate forehand over from close range.

Murray serves to stay in the set.

    Murray 6-2 2-6 3-4 Bourgue*

When Murray staged his comeback against Stepanek in the first round, he was roaring like a lion.

But right now, he's mumbling to himself, or to his box. He looks perplexed.

The Brit is undone again by a Bourgue backhand and the Frenchman has two break points.

A beauty down the line from Murray makes it 30-40 and a sliding drop shot takes it to deuce.

Advantage Murray after an ace - his fastest of the match so far - and he holds after Bourgue's return finds the net.
