Murray 6-2 2-6 2-3 Bourgue*
Murray whacks an ace down the middle...but follows it up with another poor effort into the net.
The British number one then hits long at 40-30 so we go to deuce. Waaah.
However, it's immediately advantage Murray after a brilliant 85mph forehand and he wraps up the game with a serve-and-volley.
Russell Fuller
BBC tennis correspondent in Paris
"To be broken four times in a row, lose 16 points in a row, to play that way with unforced error after unforced error, and throw in double faults, is inexplicable.
"It's very had to comprehend why this is happening to Murray. There's definitely something wrong. Whether it is mental , something to do with his split with Mauresmo, a physical thing or a drop in form, we don't know."
*Murray 6-2 2-6 1-3 Bourgue

Their home boy Bourgue cruises into a 40-0 lead and holds to love with a fabulous swiping forehand into the corner.
Lovely stuff.

"In the light of what's happened in the last 30 minutes, Murray holding serve is quite something.
"It should be routine, he should win a match like this in straight sets, but it hasn't been."

Alice Stainer: Andy Murray is a baffling player to follow. Firmly believe he can beat anyone when he's on his game. Then, of a sudden, he's off it.
Hwarren: Is it not possible for Andy Murray to do things the easy way?
Murray 6-2 2-6 1-2 Bourgue*
Andy Murray is playing Jekyll and Hyde tennis.
He comes forward for a neat drop shot winner, but then carelessly hits into the net on the next point.
Much to his relief, he eventually holds his serve. The British number one really needed that.
*Murray 6-2 2-6 0-2 Bourgue
Could this be a mental battle for Bourgue now?
The French wildcard looks a little shaky on the first service game of this set.
His backhand goes awry to hand Murray a break point, but we go to deuce after the Scotsman hits into the net.
Bourgue has the advantage and holds. He looks chuffed with that. As he should after winning eight straight games.

Murray finally ends Bourgue's 16 (yes, sixteen) point run. My word, he needed that.
But straight away the Frenchman has two break points to his name.
Murray let's out a faint shout of "c'mon" as he rescues one for 30-40.
But a poor double fault hands another game to Bourgue. This is bizarre.

"This is the world's second best player, someone who beat Djokovic in a final two weeks ago and he's playing like someone in a challenger event."

Murray 6-2 2-5 Bourgue*
I'm not sure Mathias Bourgue can quite believe it himself...he's running rings around second seed Andy Murray.
After another TRIPLE break point, the Frenchman snatches it.
Five straight games. Wow, wow, wow. He's going to serve for the set!
Barry Flatman
Tennis correspondent for the Sunday Times on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra
"Murray will be feeling somewhat alone because the French crowd is getting behind the home player, and there's 10,000 voices against him.
"But he's the experienced player, the second seed, and Bourgue has never beaten anyone in the top 50 and will be getting nervous.
"Murray can salvage this set, of course, but he needs to get his focus back."
