Ceefax?! YES to old skool methods of following sport!

"That was a very poor game from Murray and demonstrates a lapse of concentration. Someone of Murray's stature should not be in that situation. He had an immediate break of Bourgue's serve but then he took his foot off the gas."

  3. Bourgue breaks backpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 25 May 2016

    Murray 6-2 2-1 Bourgue*

Now it's Bourgue's turn to have a go on a triple break point, which is handed to him by an Andy Murray double fault.

One is rescued after a lovely backhand down to the right of the Frenchman.

But Bourgue makes it count on the second attempt. The home crowd enjoyed that one.

  4. Murray breaks againpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 25 May 2016

    *Murray 6-2 2-0 Bourgue

Mathias Bourgue is struggling now as Murray snatches two points off his serve.

Make that three, with the most ridiculous stretching forehand cross-court. How did he get that in?! Wonderful!

One break point goes amiss as Murray fails to tap over at the net.

And another one chalked off when he smashes too low.

One more left...and Bourgue double faults. We have a break for the Brit!

Ah, now, Andy. This is not what you're meant to do after winning a set.

Bourgue has a break point. Doh!

But the Scotsman rescues it back to deuce and on his advantage, Murray pops over a neat drop shot to hold his serve.

"So far, so good. Murray will now have a read on what Bourgue can throw at him, and 6-2 is a nice confident margin.

"He clearly doesn't seem that fatigued by the extended match against Radek Stepanek."

  8. Game and first setpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 25 May 2016

    *Murray 6-2 Bourgue

Murray makes some headway on Bourgue's serve, but the Frenchman levels at 30-30 with a well-executed backhand into the corner.

We go to deuce, before Bourgue lands a pure forehand to take the advantage.

But two shots from Bourgue go just wide, and Murray has break and set point.

It's not to be just yet...after a long rally, Murray overcooks a forehand.

But the advantage returns in his favour. Another set point...and this time he wins it.

First set to the British number one.

    Murray 5-2 Bourgue*

Andy Murray smacks his racquet against the base of his trainers (which look like rock climbing shoes) as he takes a 40-30 lead on his serve.

A trademark fist pump appears as a forehand winner sees him hold for a comfortable 5-2 lead.

Mathias Bourgue holds his serve without too much drama, after a couple of poor shots from Murray.

Now the Frenchman needs to find a break somewhere.

    Murray 4-1 Bourgue*

A shake of the head and a couple of swears from Andy Murray as the score moves from 30-0 to 30-30.

But he sews up his service game with a sweet forehand.

    *Murray 3-1 Bourgue

We've surpassed eight minutes on this game.

Deuce, advantage, deuce advantage x five.

    Anyone want to take it?

    Nope...still going...10 minutes and counting.

    After four break points...it's Murray's!

    *Murray 2-1 Bourgue

Grand Slam debutant Mathias Bourgue is a bit under the cosh now.

He tries a powerful cross-court forehand but it goes just wide, and sees another swipe go wide, which gives Murray break point.

A slice from the British number one clips the net and just goes out, we go to deuce.

Bourgue takes the advantage by rushing into the net and absolutely pelts a volley down court. It hits the line. Niiiiiiice.

Now it's Murray's advantage after an error at the net. But again we go back to deuce.

    Murray 2-1 Bourgue*

Murray must be feeling the heat out there. He's dressed head-to-toe in black.

The Scotsman strolls through his second service game and takes a seat under an umbrella for a quick cool down.

    *Murray 1-1 Bourgue

Mathias Bourgue rolls his shoulders in his blue stripey shirt as he prepares to defend his serve for the first time.

The Frenchman comes rushing into the net and places a backhand winner into the bottom corner to move to 40-15.

And he easily holds to make it 1-1. Nice work from the French wildcard. He seems unfazed at the moment.

"Bourgue is something of an unknown quality. Murray will have watched films and videos of Bourgue but you never really know what an opponent is like until you've played him."
