Novak Djokovic seems to have cruise control engaged, the winners' enclosure plotted on the sav nav and his feet up on the dashboard.

Even the crowd, so long so pro-Djoko, might want to see a Murray revival just to get a little more value from their tickets.

Ever since that first set, Andy Murray has been put through the mincer.

He heads back to his seat, chuntering about the position of the overhead camera on the court.

Djokovic marches back to towel down. He is surely on his way to the one piece of Grand Slam silverware missing from his mantelpiece.

The first point of the fourth set is the match in microcosm.

Novak Djokovic's exacting precision leaves Andy Murray flummoxed and frustrated as he chases a drop-shot in vain into the net.

A brilliant feather soft drop-shot reply from Djokovic brings up 0-30 on the board and bottoms from seats in the stands.

A forehand error gives Djokovic 0-40 and three break points.

This feels very like the brink.

"The drama is just going out of this occasion. Murray is going to have to start set four very well indeed."

John Michael Poole: Stick a fork in this match, it's done.

Nick Powell: Andy has just not made his shots in the last two sets but if he can pinch the next one he will have momentum for a decider.

If Andy Murray is playing possum - conserving energy to hurl the kitchen sink at the fourth set - it is a very convincing act,

The Briton finds himself 40-0 adrift and there is no way back from that.

Murray takes a sit down and tries to resurrect the first-set version of himself.

Daniel Woods: Murray is just hitting back to Djokovic, he needs to be more creative like he was in the first set. Make Djokovic move.

Jack Blackburn: Stats imply Murray can flip this match with improved serving. One thing he utterly controls & the hardest thing to correct.

It is going to be too late for Andy Murray to save the third set, but he seems to have mined into a richer vein of form towards its tail-end.

He is a little sharper on serve and across the court surface as he holds.

The trouble is that Novak Djokovic looks plugged in and locked on even when he loses the game.

One return winner is an absolute zinger, right out of the sweet spot and past Murray in a flash.

"The backhand down the line is the shot that has got Djokovic back into this match. Murray isn't going away, his tactics are right, but he just needs to dig deep and cut out those unforced errors."

Novak Djokovic sends down an arcing ace to save a third break point.

A forehand wide though from the Serb gives Andy Murray a fourth chance.

Murray's return pings wide as it trampolines off the net cord.

And four chances to break the Djokovic serve is unusually generous from the world number one.

Murray is ushered out of the game without getting another.

Novak Djokovic combines the sledgehammer - pummeling Murray with the forehand - and the feather duster - muffling a lovely drop volley out of reach - to save both break points.

    To deuce.

Andy Murray finds an extra yard of pace, a couple more mph on his ground strokes and a scoreline of 15-40 on the board.

Two points to snatch back one of Novak Djokovic's breaks in this set.

"There are way too many unforced errors creeping in from Murray. There are signs that he might be a little bit weary - his legs look heavy."

It is points like that that make you feel you are banging your head against a brick wall when you play Novak Djokovic.

The Serb clips a divine shot across court, smearing the whitewash to convert the second break point.

A genetic mash-up between Stretch Armstrong and Usain Bolt could not have got to that one.

Djokovic motions for more noise as he heads to his stool. The crowd duly oblige.

Andy Murray swings his arms and hangs his head at the end of the game.

He had 15-30 on the Djokovic serve, but he can't make any further inroads into the world number one.

A showreel winner? A chat with himself in a toilet-break mirror?

He needs something to shift the momentum which is flowing against him at the moment.

Cats cower in sitting rooms all around the country.

Andy Murray had scraped one break point off the table. He had Novak Djokovic scampering at 30-40. He had a routine forehand volley to put away.

But he also had the seeds of doubt sown by Djokovic's fetching and chasing.

He dumps into the net to gasps.
