There is a good energy around Centre Court. Roger is enjoying it, it is relaxing him and Marcus has at least got on the board.

Federer 6-0 6-3 Willis *
In a blink. A flash. A mountain to climb less than three-quarters of an hour ago, now a whole range.
* Federer 6-0 5-3 Willis
Mmm, delightful low vollley cross-court from Willis, and despite the inevitable destination of this contest, some of the scenery en route is rather pleasing on the eye. Now to break to stay in the set.

Hector C: Sat in a meeting not listening to anything whilst reading these updates. In too deep to pull a sickie

I think Roger is approaching this match the way he should, he's taking it seriously, trying to win as quickly as possible and not getting involved with the crowd.
He's letting Willis do all the crowd pleasing.
It wasn't luck Willis won his first round, he can really play.
A Wimbledon first? It would seem Matt Smith, Marcus Willis' coach, is live tweeting from the Players' Box...
Federer 6-0 5-2 Willis *
A hold to love for the silky old champ, and if there's a miracle out there, it's an all-time monster.
* Federer 6-0 4-2 Willis
Willis charging the tape, the ball coming back at him like a fuzzy yellow howitzer, his attempted half-volley burying its nose in the pristine turf. Break point, rescued with a brace of deep, punchy leftie serves. Stranded by Federer's laser groundstrokes, into the net with a weary backhand, break gone down river.

Karl Jennings: Absolutely loving this, it's the absolute epitome and magic of #Wimbledon, external
Monty Moncrieff: Brits at #Wimbledon, external used to be a rarity but there's 4 in action right now (3 on biggest courts) & none of them are even a Murray
And what a game, keeping level in the second set on serve.
*Watson 6-3 Beck
Heather Watson has bagged the first set against Germany's Annika Beck out on Court 12.
Federer 6-0 3-2 Willis *
It's one thing holding your own serve against arguably the greatest player the game has seen. It's another thing entirely breaking his. One step at a time.
Bernard Tomic has finally hauled Fernando Verdasco out of the tournament in five sets over on Court Two.
That clears the way for British number four Dan Evans. He is taking on Ukraine's Alexandr Dolgopolov for the right to play Roger Federer or Marcus Willis in the next round.
* Federer 6-0 2-2 Willis
Willis relaxing, firing from the hip, swinging with abandon for 40-0. Federer with a dashing volley to claw one point back, but a solid serve bags the second game. Pluck,

Daniel Woods: Willis is playing some good attacking tennis. He's got the potential to make life difficult for Federer, he needs to focus!
Amy: Marcus Willis is becoming my new hero. He's having a blast! Great to see

That first set was overwhelming, as we would expect, but he has finally found himself.
He has good feel for the ball, but he is trying to do the near impossible which is catch Roger off balance.

What is it like glancing over the net and seeing one of the greatest tennis players of all-time glaring back at you? I'll never know. You'll never know. Marcus Willis is getting to know. Tim Henman already knows.
"The first time I qualified for an event on the main tour I drew Pete Sampras - the world number one and I was ranked 180 in the world," says the former British number one.
"I was nervous but you have to try to take your time because when you're playing someone at a different level it is easy to rush and the match to go by quickly.
"You can't look at who you're playing - you have to play the ball. The fundamental rule is watch the ball and you have to do an even better job of that. If you start looking at your opponent you have no chance."
