"Dan Evans today produced a really, really good performance. He looked so composed. There are so many facets to his game and if he can start getting his mind into a good place more often he can really achieve something in this game."

Court one is also in sesh. You can watch it here.

World number 37 Grigor Dimitrov has rushed into a 5-2 lead against 16th seed Giles Simon.

Speedy work from Mr Dimitrov. I wonder if his Pussycat Doll girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger is in the crowd?

    Benneteau 1-1 Nishikori

Fifth seed Kei Nishikori and world number 547 Julien Benneteau are underway on Centre Court in their second round match.

Frenchman Benneteau was sniffing a break but Nishikori managed to fend it off to hold in his opening service game.

Having a quick gander around the court, it is looking very empty at the moment.

Come on people, grab your sarnies and your generic fruit-based drinks and take a pew.

Former Wimbledon mixed doubles champion on BBC TV

Sakkari has picked up the velocity on her second serve, she's looking a lot more comfortable.

That first service game she must have been very nervous, and when you're nervous your muscles tighten up - you lose the fluidity in your serve.

Abu Ali: No need to sugar coat it. Watson has declined. From serving for the match against Serena last year to KOed in the first round.

Tom Fisk: Dan Evans can beat Federer! Can't be far off British number 2 now either.

    Nishikori v Benneteau

Right, the best china is out on Centre Court.

The Duchess of Cornwall has nabbed the front and centre seat in the Royal Box, the ball boys stand to attention, the net cord is tighter than a piano string.

And here come Kei Nishikori and Julien Benneteau to get the main stage started.

Heather Watson, understandably, is not a happy bunny.

A generous round of applause from the British fans greets her exit - but she isn't hanging around long to hear it. She exits stage left rather sharpish, brushing past the rather optimistic lady who asks for her oversized tennis ball to be signed. Time and place.

Watto storms out of the court, smacking her racquet into the concrete floor on her way through the crowd. It is bruised but not broken - rather like its owner.

What a match and Annika Beck held her nerve in the end, but it really was up for grabs. Heather hit 43 winners compared to 19 from Beck, but it was just a shame for Heather that on her three match points she was not able to go for it.

    Watson 6-3 0-6 10-12 Beck

After two hours and 52 minutes - spread across two days - the cookie crumbles the way of Germany's Annika Beck.

After last year's fun and games against Serena Williams on Centre Court, Heather Watson is going to have to make do with a first-round exit at Wimbledon this year.
