    Pouille 6-7 3-6 1-4 Berdych*

The crowd gets behind Lucas Pouille as he places a perfectly-executed backhand winner down the line. A lovely shot, that.

But it's all in vain. Czech Berdych serves an ace to hold.

And then the Frenchman loses the plot a bit on his own serve. Error central. Berdych seals the double break.

    Ruthless from the tenth seed.

Tsonga to the net, floating up a chip lob, just long. Ace down the middle. Big serve, return wide. Into the tie-break we march...

It's Darren: In the pub doing my homework whilst keeping one eye on the tennis! C'mon

Wayne Roberts: Murray being tested to the limit here deep in the first set

Andrew Priestley: I haven't seen Tsonga hitting groundstrokes so well and so hard since THAT Wimbledon QF performance vs Federer back in 2011.

You feel this is such an important set for Tsonga.

He hasn't fared well against Murray in the past and he is playing against the big crowd.

    * Murray 5-6 Tsonga

Murray with a glimmer at 15-30, but a thrashing ace from Tsonga - looking quite at home out there - slams shut the door. A hold of serve away from the 'breaker.

Tsonga bludgeons the ball, giving it a good whack, almost like a boxer lining up and giving it a big swing - all muscle.

    Pouille 6-7 3-6 1-2 Berdych*

Lucas Pouille's up-and-down routine continues on Court One.

He lands a lovely, low forehand winner past Tomas Berdych to get a point on the board on his opponent's serve but then he forces a forehand wide as Berdych holds.

Then, back on his own serve, the Frenchman finds himself facing another break point ...and Berdych takes it.

    Murray 5-5 Tsonga *

Getting a little squeaky out there, Tsonga trying to shorten the points with his aggression, Murray being a little reactive. Hold to 30, a muted atmosphere around this hallowed old arena.

    John McEnroe

People are expecting the favourite of the tournament to make his way through and after what happened with that amazing Federer match, the crowd is a bit fatigued.

Murray is trying to energise them.

Some of those with Court One tickets have sensed there may be better entertainment elsewhere.

As Tomas Berdych wraps up the second set against Lucas Pouille, a fair few scarper to try to secure a spot on the Hill for Andy Murray v Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

They are likely to be disappointed. It is tighter packed than a Japanese commuter train up there.

A little bit of lapse of concentration from Andy and Jo's energy looks great. Andy's really going to have to dig deep to stay in this set.

Murray is struggling a bit. He is not playing as well as the last two matches. He's steering the ball a little bit, not really going for it, hoping for a mistake from Tsonga.

Filling up now, Centre, and they'll be keeping digits crossed now as Andy Murray has to serve to stay in this first set. Three games on the spin for Jo-Wilfried, and not surprisingly his dander is in attack position.

Murray strangely fallible suddenly, missing a simple forehand putaway. Break point - good stop-volley, Tsonga charging in like a runaway train, reaching for the ball, caressing it cross-court for a winner that defies geometry. Battle rejoined.

    Pouille 6-7 3-6 Berdych

Lucas Pouille tries to challenge a Tomas Berdych serve but nahhh, HawkEye's not having that. It was well in.

Berdych has two set points and needs only one as Pouille shoots long.

The Czech's strolling into the semis right now.

Rufus the Hawk is something of a Wimbledon legend with his bird-scaring antics.

Falconer Imogen Davis tells me Rufus lives largely on a tasty diet of pigeons, chicken and quail.

"He normally flies between 5am and 9am each day when he's king of the Centre Court," said Imogen, 29.

    Pouille 6-7 3-5 Berdych*

A decent hold of service game, that, from Lucas Pouille. But has too much damage been done early doors?

Tomas Berdych serves in a bid to take a 2-0 lead overall.

A forehand winner from Tomas Berdych sees him hold to move along nicely to 5-2.

One more game and he'll have the second in his pocket.

Frenchman Lucas Pouille serves to stay in it.

    Murray 4-2 Tsonga *

Murray in white cap, baggy shorts, mid-calf socks; Tsonga bare-headed, broad of beam. Super from the Frenchman, forcing Murray deep, Murray wonderful rescue flick, JWT at the net to pop away the winner for break-back point. Murray now to the net, one volley, another controlled a treat as Tsonga gives his forehand maximum licks. Sloppy this time, a forehand sent two feet long. No no, forehand tugged into the net, another break point, another save. Relief all round the refilling Centre Court.
