Centre Court began that final game shouting for their king.

But by the time that Roger Federer's forehand flew long, the revolution was complete.

Milos Raonic serves out to love and is into his first Grand Slam final.

Federer will have to field more questions that he is not going to like.

Raonic has never been closer than this to a Grand Slam final. He has been in one other Wimbledon semi, one Australian Open semi, but now he is only one game away from the Wimbledon final.

Roger Federer is not going to fall on his own serve.

A delicious backhand down the line, a dead-eyed serve down the middle and he has held to love.

The spotlight swings to Raonic. He serves for the match next.

Milos Raonic serves big, hits big and Roger Federer seems to be shrinking in his whites under the barrage.

Forty-love at speed. Roger Federer nibbles a point back. But Raonic keeps swinging and overpowers his man, gleefully hammering away a bounce smash to move within a game of the finishline.

  7. Falling Federerpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 8 July 2016

Or should it be failing Federer?  Roger takes a tumble and seems to have hurt his knee, before going on to losing the game and being a break down in this final set.

He's gone a little introverted, flat and quiet, he's not himself. He's lost his sparkle.

Roger Federer is struggling to keep a rein on Milos Raonic, but his cards are still on the table.

Twice the Canadian gobbles up the Swiss serve to force a break point, twice Federer knocks him back.

That would surely have been curtains for Federer. As it is Raonic has to hold serve just twice to secure his place in the final.

Roger Federer staring into the void as Milos Raonic forces 15-30.

He wipes a strand of hair away and chucks down a serve that catches a sniff of line.

But a netted Swiss forehand takes us to deuce and more danger.

Can Milos Raonic back up the break?

The Canadian is subjected to a groundstroke inquisition as Roger Federer parries, thrusts, jigs and jags, but he holds his nerve, batters the ball back from every corner and comes through.

A clear lead on the scoreboard.

Roger Federer chases into the net as he tries to salvage another break point.

One patter-cake volley back to Raonic's feet.

Again the Canadian tries to find a way past. Again Federer repels him.

The crowd gasp. Federer still a sitting duck though.

And this time Raonic makes it stick!

    He leads in the decider!

  18. 'Raonic has worked extremely hard for this'published at 16:15 British Summer Time 8 July 2016

Raonic is still out there and still has a shot at this. He has never been in a Wimbledon final.

He has worked extremely hard off the court to get himself fit enough for this.

He did have trouble earlier in this match and was rushing a bit but he was able to stick with it.

Milos Raonic tucks into a Roger Federer serve to bring up 15-15. He saw that one like a beach ball.

Federer dumps a forehand into the net for 30-30.

And then the Swiss swats a forehand wide to take it to deuce.

Milos Raonic hits such a heavy ball on serve, it is like he is wielding a mallet rather than a racquet.

A second serve whizzes clean past Roger Federer as he holds to 15.

Is this the phoney war before the fireworks begin? That is how the previous four sets have panned out.
