Raonic is playing perhaps the greatest player that has ever lived and he has risen to the occasion.

It was so quiet in the air, with the crowd anticipating Federer's break, but Raonic has fought hard.

Federer has got better and better as the match has gone on - he is just amazing.

Milos Raonic is still hanging in this match by the cuticle of his fingernail.

If he can batten down the hatches and take this fourth set into a tie-break then who knows?

First though Roger Federer has to serve to stay in the set.

Roger Federer sneaks into the net like a cat-burglar, slipping away a volley for 15-30 with the accuracy of a Phil Taylor dart.

Milos Raonic over-cooks on the forehand to offer up 30-40 and a break point.

Centre Court sniffs blood in the water.

Raonic delivers a crushing ace to keep the wolves from the door.

Kmillar!: I feel that even if Roger wins, whoever wins the other semi will take advantage of his weaker starts & not let him back in!

Paul Barton: Tennis is dull without this man!!! Greatest by far.. Please Feds don't let dull Murray do it

Sarah Taylor: Finding myself in the unusual place of cheering for #MilosRaonic, external at #Wimbledon, external I must want that #QueensFinalRematch, external he mentioned

Raonic has to be more disciplined and maybe play a safer ball to the centre of the court.

Roger Federer is cruising along on autopilot.

Milos Raonic is scrapping hard to try and cause the Swiss to sweat.

Maybe there is a bead of perspiration as a fine deep backhand forces 40-30, but Federer wipes it and Raonic's chances away with a authoritative hold to seal the game.

Raonic is not mixing up his serves much, he is just pummelling every one.

Some unforced errors creeping into Raonic's game from the back of the court. I don't think he's quite ready for these championships because he's not quite confident enough to back himself in the rallies against Federer, or at the net against Murray.

A Milos Raonic second serve strays long over the service line to take the game to deuce.

There is more of the sticky stuff for the Canadian to try and skirt round...

His serve digs him out just when he needs it.

If Raonic can take this set to a tie-break, he stands a good chance of taking it. If he takes it, the final-set momentum willl be eddying around all over the place and he might be able to nick that too.

That's the route to victory that he will have mapped out.

Dave W:  Federer is the only sports person/team that makes me stand up and applaud in the privacy of my home.Genius at work

James Taylor: Federer now serving like he did against Murray in the semi last year. Ominous if he gets to the final.

Milos Raonic forces 15-30, but Roger Federer has more answers than an under-the table pub quiz cheat.

A running volley, a corking serve and it is 40-30.

Raonic nicks a point to take it to deuce, but, whereas in the first set it felt as if the roof was catching fire for Federer, now the Swiss is in control.

    Danger damped down.

That was a strong effort from Raonic and it had looked rather bleak for him. He hit a big, big forehand when he desperately needed it.

Milos Raonic might not get the winners medal at the end of this afternoon, but he should get a gong for courage under fire.

The Canadian has not shrunk from the big points and kept hitting strong, hard and at lines.

It is enough to see him through this spot of danger. Can he do it consistently enough to win a five-set match against Roger Federer? A whole other tougher question.

    Milos Raonic's nerves don't fail.

He wallops away a forehand to save the second break point and take us to deuce.

A whipped forehand from Roger Federer finds the mark for 15-30.

A whipped forehand from Milos Raonic doesn't for 15-40.

Two break points for Federer. Virtual match points? Perhaps..

  16. Venus hogging the courtpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 8 July 2016

She may have been knocked out of the singles yesterday but Venus Williams is still hungry for the win. She is in semi-final doubles action with her sister Serena where they are currently tied at 4-4 in the first set against Goerges and Pliskova.

Are you wondering who's sat in the royal box today on Centre Court? Of course you are.

British actor Jude Law is in attendance, wearing a suit which wouldn't have looked out of place at Liverpool's FA Cup final day in 1996.

He's joined by partner Phillipa Coan.

Sat just behind them is Oscar-nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor - star of Twelve Years A Slave and Kinky Boots.

    Now then.

Roger Federer's choppy drop-shot attempt drifts tamely into the net for 0-15.

Is this a chance for Raonic to force an opening?

    Nope.

That is the only nibble he is getting as a narrow Hawkeye call confirms that Federer has clipped the baseline on the final point.

Raonic has hit tennis players' block - unable to dent the Federer game like he was in the opening set.

This has not been an exceptionally physical match, there have not been a lot of long rallies.
