  5. Throwbackpublished at 10:13 British Summer Time 3 July 2016

This is only the fourth time the middle Sunday has been used at Wimbledon.

The last time was in 2004, while the weather also affected the schedule in 1991 and 1997.

In previous years, fans had to queue up to get the 22,000 unreserved tickets (Wimbledon *loves* a queue).

But this year, in the glorious days of advanced internet technology, fans were able to buy them online. And they were snapped up in 27 minutes on Saturday.

    Wimbledon middle Sunday

In the last few days, the covers at Wimbledon have been on and off more times than Ross and Rachel during the late 1990s.

On Friday, the officials took the decision to open up the gates on what would usually be the tournament's day off in order to get back up to speed.

And thus People's Sunday was born.
