That's it from me after that stunning performance by Roger Federer, Murray's clinical victory and Dan Evans' career best win.

Plenty to look forward to at Melbourne Park tomorrow, so join us very, very early on Saturday morning for all the action.

Roger Federer said: "I had no expectations, in practice things were going well, I always think practice is not that important, but I was winning tonnes of sets, which I am not sure was a good thing.

"I am happy it went as well as it did, happy to continue my run here even though I struggled in the early rounds. Today was great and I surprised myself."

Asked how he feels about playing Kei Nishikori in the fourth round, he said ominously: "I guess I am ready now.

"I like Kei, I have always been a fan of his game, he is a nice kid, had a great few seasons. I have got my work cut out."

"I always felt against better ranked players I will lift my game naturally and I know Tomas really well, " says the 17-time Grand Slam champion.

"You feed off each other, I didn't expect it to go this well, I knew it was a tough third round if I got there and I couldn't be happier right now."

    15-0 Federer backhand winner.

    30-0 Another winner

    40-0 Federer ace

40-15 Berdych holds on in there

And Federer does it with the backhand.

    GAME SET AND MATCH.

What a performance by the 35-year-old.

Two aces in a row for Berdych to go 40-0

Best to try and keep the ball away from Federer, good tactic.

But he nets a backhand and suddenly it's 40-30, Federer has a sniff of a break and the match as he gets it to deuce.

Federer is like a dog with a bone in this game, we go to the third deuce after Berdych double faults.

A fourth as he sends his return long but an ace sees him over the line.

This is an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be watching this by Roger Federer. There's a couple of shots where you think that's not even possible. Tomas Berdych is at a loss - what can he do?

    New balls.

Can they help Berdych break the Federer serve? Are we clutching at straws?

    No and yes.

Federer now a game away from the last-16, where he would face Kei Nishikori.

Tomas Berdych is going to have to hope that there's a moment of weakness in the Roger Federer serve.

Federer's back hand is so dismissive and he unleashes it for another winner on the first point of the Berdych serve.

But the Czech keeps in there and holds.

Berdych races through his service game without much problem. He is hanging in there but just the small matter of being two sets and a break down to one of the greatest players of all-time.

    Still you never know...

Is it time to start swinging?

Tomas Berdych sends a forehand down the line to win the first point but Federer quickly levels.

There is more intent behind the Czech's shots and Federer uncharacteristically sends a backhand wide. But again he levels the next point.

An ace takes Federer to 40-30 and Berdych then misses with a lob.

It's better from him, but not good enough.

Tomas Berdych, if you need reminding is 10th in the world. TENTH!

Finally his first serve starts clicking, but is it too late?

He holds to love, finishing with an ace.

    Shot after shot after shot.

He is blowing his opponent away.

    Break consolidated.

This is only his third match since Wimbledon. Take that in.

If Berdych is going to respond now would be a great time.

Two sets down against an in-form Roger Federer is a daunting task for any player.

The Czech has his head firmly pointing down as Federer gets to 15-30 but Berdych aces to level.

A stunning return gives Federer another break point, and he does it again with that backhand.

He snaps it down the line, Berdych is nowhere near it.

Wow, it's so impressive. Roger Federer is quick and efficient and you can tell he knows he's playing well and he's sending out a message to the rest of the pack. Tomas Berdych is playing catch-up, which is a complete nightmare. He's got to take some risks and be a bit braver now.
