Former GB Fed Cup tennis player on BBC Red Button

This World Group II is such a hard group to get out, there are so many good quality players in there. I remember in my day coming up against the likes of Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki and the Radwanska sisters of Poland.

    Watson* 1-3 Begu

A nice game in the end for Begu and she stretches that neck out.

It doesn't seem to have affected her so far though.

    Watson 1-2 Begu

A second double fault for Begu, in only her second service game, hands Watson the first point of the game.

But she follows it up with an ace. A topsy-turvy start for the Romanian, who missed yesterday's singles with a stiff neck.

The crowd are slightly more subdued in this one.

Their superstar Simona Halep got the business done this morning in front of a raucous crowd, but they're not as pumped up for this one.

And Watson is keeping them quiet. She stays low and powers a forehand down the line.

But Begu brings up another break point.

    She's done it.

Begu's shot goes long, and after an inspection from the chair umpire, the break is confirmed.

    But that's better from Watson.

A long rally which she finishes in style. The drop shot brings Begu forward and Watson backs it up with a brilliant stroke down the middle.

Begu has to duck to avoid her head being taken off.

    Much more like it.

A couple of unforced errors to start from Watson.

Her second shot finds the net and a super shot from Begu hands the Romanian three break points.

A shaky opening from the Brit, but that's more like it.

A brilliant forehand winner and she's saved one of the three break points.

    Watson v Begu

BBC Sport commentator Peter Odgers: Heather Watson seems to embrace playing in this big-match environment and that shows in her Fed Cup record. She has 25 wins and seven losses in total with 17 wins and six losses in singles.

She is the type of player who will enjoy this type of crowd and situation.

They are close to a place among the Fed Cup elite, but if Watson loses, they'll stay in the zonal group.

    Russell Fuller
    BBC tennis correspondent in Romania

A classy performance from Simona Halep, who was superior in every department. She has just indicated in a TV on court interview that she really liked her chances today - as she feels she has "dominated" previous matches against Konta, despite losing both.

Big job now for Heather Watson against Irina-Camelia Begu, who missed yesterday's matches but was warming up on court earlier.
