Andy Murray knows he can see the finishing line. One final push is all he needs. Andrey Kuznetsov can't wait to stop now.

Murray races into a 40-0 lead, the Russian getting brief respite to win the next point, only for the world number one to pack some extra punch into a powerful forehand which Kuznetsov's backhand isn't strong enough to deal with.

There's a sense of resignation on Andrey Kuznetsov's face. His spirit has been ground down by Andy Murray.

The end is nigh for the Russian.

Well Joshua, Murray is starting to find more rhythm than a funk and soul band. The Scot dances through another comfortable hold, his precision and power from the baseline overwhelming Kuznetsov.

    Edmund 6-3 6-2 Elias

We have only just gone beyond the hour mark on Court 14 but Kyle Edmund is two sets to the good.

He is very much playing like a player ranked 59 places higher than his opponent. It has been very impressive.

Edmund almost seems disappointed he can't take the set with a first serve ace. Not to worry! He does it with his second serve! Brilliant stuff from the 22 year-old.

Murray's attacking armoury is starting to overwhelm Kuznetsov now. The Russian knows desperate times are calling for desperate measures and it results in some risk-taking which doesn't bring reward.

Murray has three break points...and takes the first one.

I wonder if Murray has an inner 'calm' person who he tries to talk to when he starts losing the plot. He is chuntering to himself again as a loose backhand takes the opening game of the fourth set into deuce.

It works. A brilliant backhand winner evades Kuznetsov as the Briton takes advantage, and then he wraps up the opener when the Russian's return goes wide.

    *Edmund 6-3 4-1 Elias

Kyle Edmund's forehand is one of the main reasons people more qualified than me think he will climb higher than his current position of 49 in the world.

It is working beautifully out on Court 14 and helps him to a second break in this second set. Edmund is well on his way here...

The turning point? That ridiculous retrieval from the baseline in the second game of that set, where Murray broke the Russian's serve.

Murray looks pretty good now. It's been a bumpy road but he should stay in control from here. Everything is smooth sailing in the Murray camp... we hope.

    Murray 6-4 4-6 6-2 Kuznetsov

Job done. Andy Murray's body and mind are back on the task.

The world number one, after that sticky second set, has regained control and seals the third set when Andrey Kuznetsov guides a volley into the tramlines.

Another fistpump towards his box shows Murray is happy. I think.

Looking ahead there's the prospect of Del Potro and Murray in the third round. They don't play short matches those two. If you remember that Olympic Games classic, I think that will be really tough.

    Murray 6-4 4-6 5-2 Kuznetsov*

Kuznetsov's chances of turning this set around are dwindling quickly. His penultimate chance disappears down the drain, despite a wayward Murray backhand giving him a 15-0 lead.

The Russian can't take advantage, however, and a Murray drop shot again leaves him scrambling at the net. When the world number one brings that weapon out, Kuznetsov has struggled to cope.

Murray now another break away from the third set...

    *Edmund 6-3 2-1 Elias

That must be one of the shots of the tournament from Kyle Edmund. From way behind the baseline he lobs Gastao Elias, landing the ball right where the baseline and tramline meet. Elias sprints back to try and return the ball but he can't manage it.

To make it even better, the point seals a break of serve for Edmund - the first of this second set.

The Kuznetsov serve is creaking, again. Another break point for Murray. The Russian misses the target with his first serve, then produces an excellent second serve which leaves Murray on the backfoot.

He follows it up with an ace and then seals a gutsy hold with another good serve which a Murray backhand can't find safety with.

    Murray 6-4 4-6 4-1 Kuznetsov*

Stunning. Simply stunning. Andy Murray is well and truly back in the groove now, pulling out arguably his best shot of the match to regain his three-game advantage.

Kuznetsov was threatening to peg back Murray again at 40-30, only for the world number one to show sensational athleticism and technique to drill a stretching backhand down the line.

I bet Andy Murray is a sports psychologist's dream. How he switches so quickly between moods is fascinating. Andrey Kuznetsov claws back a game with a decent service game, and even that does not seem to darken the Briton's ever-brightening mood.

Hopefully this match has turned and Murray has gone through the negative part and is now in a positive frame of mind.
