*Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 (4-5) Djokovic
Djokovic goes for the serve and volley... and he executes it perfectly. Still on serve...
Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 (4-4) Djokovic*
Back on the Djoko serve, back in the groove? Lengthy rally, ending with a peach of a shot from ARV! What a shot, kicking up dust on the line. In!
Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 (3-4) Djokovic*
Ramos-Vinolas is still a mini-break behind but has clawed back some confidence. A hefty first serve down the middle is only weakly batted back into the net by Djokovic.
*Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 (2-4) Djokovic
Novak really hitting the ball sweetly now - ah, classic curse! He punts long.
*Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 (1-4) Djokovic
Niiice. Djokovic drop-shots, ARV scampers forward to clip back an acute-angled winner.
Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 (0-4) Djokovic*
The champion has two service points now and a three-point lead. He can motor away to the first set here.
And he goes 4-0 up, forcing the Spaniard to drift long.
Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 (0-3) Djokovic*
First serve net, second serve pressure. Another long baseline rally ends when Djoko powers a forehand down the line as ARV is left stranded on the other side of the court.
Total Djoko domination in the breaker.
*Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 (0-2) Djokovic
A mini break as ARV duffs one long.
*Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 (0-1) Djokovic
Right then. Djoko to kick us off.
First serve in, clunky forehand from ARV wide. Neat hold to start from the world number two.
Ramos-Vinolas 6-6 Djokovic
We have a tie-break
Ramos-Vinolas 5-6 Djokovic*
Serving to stay in the set again then, let's see what you've got ARV. He has played very, very well in this first set but hasn't been able to shrug off the champion.
Who is playing better then he was half an hour ago. That is what will worry the Spaniard.
A Mexican wave! It's been better than that. You're better than that, Paris.
*Ramos-Vinolas 5-6 Djokovic
Business time in the first set. Jacket and tie required. Are we on for a tie-breaker? Albert Ramos-Vinolas hits what must be his fifth absolute peach of a winner from the back of the court.
Again, Nole is unhappy, gesticulating to the officials. Presumably he thought it was long. He then finds his A game, two magnificently judged raking shots on the lines, all about timing to win a 25-shot rally.
Ramos-Vinolas 5-5 Djokovic*
A 22-shot rally ends in the net, deuce. But Ramos-Vinolas does take advantage of his advantage, holds for 5-5.
Ramos-Vinolas 4-5 Djokovic*
ARV double faults, at a bad time, but composes himself before burying a cracker of a winner down the line.
Novak Djokovic is unhappy, he thought the ball was out a shot before. The shadow is now 80% across the court and maybe making it harder to spot the ball at times? Great response from the champion though, finding a Pythagorean angle to smash a winner cross court. 40-30.

With Andre Agassi having departed Paris for prior engagements, it's down to Djokovic's remaining interim (we think) coaching team of brother, Marko, and love, peace and meditation guru Pepe Imaz to send out the good vibes from the player box. The pair are dressed in sparkling white hoodies, so hard to miss.
*Ramos-Vinolas 4-5 Djokovic
Novak holds his serve and all of a sudden Albert Ramos-Vinolas now has to serve to stay in the set.
*Ramos-Vinolas 4-4 Djokovic
Will that break point prove important? Albert Ramos-Vinolas has broken Novak Djokovic twice in this first set but still isn't ahead. You wonder how many chances you will get against a top player.
30-30.
Ramos-Vinolas 4-4 Djokovic*
A big point. Ramos-Vinolas has a shot called in, but then overturned by the man in the chair, and that gives Djokovic a break point.
ARV then hits the net, waits for the ball to land, to land, to land...OUT!
Them's the breaks.
As Piers informs us, Roland Garros' top brass have released tomorrow's order of play - something of great interest to Andy Murray fans. And BBC Sport journalists.
