    A few years ago Rafa's beloved Madrid completed 'La Decima' - 10 European Cup/Champions League titles.

    This year he could complete his own.

    The Spaniard is bidding for his 10th Roland Garros title.

    And that would see him become the first player in the Open era - and only the second in history - to win 10 titles at any Grand Slam event.

    Bonjour! Not only did Rafa Nadal celebrate his birthday in Paris as usual (normal service resumed after last year's early withdrawal), but the Real Madrid supporter also spent it watching his footballing heroes become European champions for the 12th time last night.

    If cheap Danish lagers did birthdays...

    Actually, it is a belated 'happy birthday'. The King of Clay celebrated his 31st birthday yesterday - and look how delighted he is!

    If someone handed me that calorific chocolate cake then I'd be grinning like a Cheshire Cat too.

    Save it until after Roland Garros, Rafa. And who knows, he might not be able to tuck in until after Sunday's final...
