    Murray 4-1 Bublik*

Andy Murray seems to be moving freely across the grass, despite the hip problem which has bugged him recently.

He overpowers his opponent with a big serve to hold again. He's got a healthy lead now.

    Nishikori 4-0 Cecchinato*

Japan's Kei Nishikori is not remotely interested in spending any longer out on Court 12 than necessary today.

The ninth seed has blitzed into a 4-0 lead against the Italian Marco Cecchinato.

    A bagel on the cards?

Andy Murray breaks the serve of Alexander Bublik in the fourth game of the first set.

Murray's settled down after a shaky start and moves 0-30 up.

Bublik completely messes up a sliced forehand and it lands in the net. Two break points for Murray.

The first goes amiss and then Bublik saves the second with a huge ace down the middle. Whizz!

Another big serve gives Bublik the advantage but back-to-back double faults hands Murray a third break point.

And the world number one takes it with a beautiful forehand winner. Lovely job.

It's a fairly quiet atmosphere so far.

    Murray 2-1 Bublik*

Alexander Bublik, on his Wimbledon debut, has just tried to hotdog the world number one. I mean, it didn't work, but you've got to give him points for the audacity of it.

His trick shots fail to distract Murray, though. The defending champion holds with ease.

  7. Early break for Williamspublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

    *Williams 2-0 Mertens

There's a decent little tussle starting over on Court One.

Venus looks a little disgruntled as a lob gets blown over the line by the wind on her third break point. Elise Mertens is staying tough but it's Williams who gets the early break with a fine forehand winner.

    *Murray 1-1 Bublik

Bublik moves to 30-0 as Murray hits long over the baseline.

A double fault gets the Scotsman off the mark in the game, and a trademark drop shot brings Murray level. The crowd enjoyed that.

But Bublik's huge serve pays off when he throws down an ace to hold.

    Tsonga 6-3 6-2 6-2 Norrie

Cameron Norrie is the next Briton out of Wimbledon - he's been beaten in straight sets by 12th seed Jo-Wlfried Tsonga over on court two.

Norrie competed well but his four double faults to Tsonga's one, and 30 unforced errors to Tsonga's 13, shows there's still a little way to go.

    Murray 1-0 Bublik*

This leggy 20-year-old has got something about him, y'know.

Alexander Bublik snatches the first point from Andy Murray's serve and soon, following a double fault, the man from Kazakhstan has two break points.

One goes amiss when Bublik hits long and then he swipes wide as we go to deuce.

Murray eventually steadies himself to hold, but that was a less than ideal start for the world number one.

    Williams v Mertens

This is Williams' 20th appearance at Wimbledon - she's the oldest player in the draw at 37, and yet age is very much just a number when you're watching her play. Her serve still looks in fine form and it'll beneft from being back on grass.

Elise Mertens, ranked 54th in the world, is making her Wimbledon debut. She's played four matches at a Grand Slam prior to today.

Illness and injury has been the story of Andy Murray's year. He's never been able to gain any momentum but he did well to get to the semis in the French Open. Fingers crossed he is healthy and, if he is, then he can have a great run.

That's more like it from Denis Shapovalov. The Canadian seizes control of the second set against Jerzy Janowicz with a double break and finally serves it out to take it 6-3.

    Murray v Bublik (13:00 BST)

There are so many amazingly weird things to say about Andy Murray's opponent today that we don't know where to start.

Did you know that Alexander Bublik is a rapper? And he has Eminem lyrics tattooed on his arm? And he doesn't actually watch a lot of tennis?

    All true.

Bublik is part of the rap scene in his home city of St Petersburg and you can expect to see several Russian rappers in his Centre Court player box on Monday.

On his right arm you'll see two quotes saying: 'You won't break me, you just make me stronger than I was' and 'always be a leader not a follower' - courtesy of Detroit's finest.

And here's what Bublik said about watching tennis: "Even Rafa and Fed, when you watch them they're putting everything in court and it's not interesting. It's interesting to see the highlights, how they're finishing the ball, but when they're rallying for, like, 45 shots, you're sitting there and you're feeling: 'Can I quit tennis please?'."

  20. Coming up...published at 12:52 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

    Murray v Bublik (13:00 BST)

We're expecting the reigning king of Wimbledon - Sir Andrew Barron Murray - out on Centre Court very soon.

Following his triumph here 12 months ago, Murray is bidding to become the first British player - male or female - to defend a Grand Slam title since Fred Perry.

He's opening his 2017 Wimbledon account against world number 134 Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan, who is making his All England Club debut today. More on him shortly.

Murray has a 29-0 win-loss record against players ranked outside the top 100 at Grand Slams and he has never lost an opening match at SW19.

    No pressure.
