    Murray 6-1 3-1 Bublik*

Bublik stretches across the grass and his go-gadget arm, featuring several Eminem tattoos, manages to snatch a winner.

At 30-15, both players are pinned to the back of the court and Bublik comes in for the kill, but Murray swipes past him.

And the world number one's smash sees him hold.

  2. Querrey beats Fabbianopublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

    Fabbiano 6-7 (5-7) 5-7 2-6 Querrey

No messing for 24th seed Sam Querrey. A quarter-finalist last year, he's stormed into round two today.

The big-serving American (that seems to go hand-in-hand, doesn't it?) sees off Italian Thomas Fabbiano in straight sets 7-6 (7-5) 7-5 6-2.

Game, set and match - Brownpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

    Sousa 6-3 6-7 (5-7) 4-6 4-6 Brown

The coolest looking fella in tennis, Dustin Brown, will be Andy Murray or Alexander Bublik's opponent in the next round.

He overcame Portugal's Joao Sousa earlier on court 14, thanks to some natty shots like this...

Dustin Brown hits an incredible flying volley in his match against Joao Sousa.

As our tennis oracle Piers Newbery says: "Brown is the dreadlocked serve-volleyer who knocked out Rafael Nadal two years ago, diving all over Centre Court. That match would certainly give Murray plenty of passing shot practice."

We've been taking a look at Murray's movement and between points he has been looking stiff but during points he is as strong as ever.

Hurrah - we have a hold!

Alexander Bublik goes back to old faithful and overpowers Andy Murray with a big serve to stop the rot.

    *Murray 6-1 2-0 Bublik

Bublik has got plenty of skills in his locker, but he's a bit all over the place.

He's looking confident at 40-15 up but a 14th unforced error brings the score to deuce.

And then ANOTHER double fault gives Andy Murray ANOTHER break point.

Murray slices out, though, and we go back to deuce.

Bublik grabs the advantage but then sends a backhand out of bounds. Deuce again...

  9. Murray in controlpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

Here's the moment Andy Murray took control of the first set.

    Murray 6-1 2-0 Bublik*

Pundit Boris Becker has just said the words 'cruise control' on BBC Two's coverage. And he's right.

Andy Murray holds to love and takes a 2-0 lead in the second set.

    *Williams 5-5 Mertens

The way this match started, it looked as though it would be one way traffic. I wasn't counting on Elise Mertens settling in quite as quickly as she has done.

There's a good hold for Venus Williams, coming up to the net and using a deft little drop to beat Mertens. It's rallies galore now but Mertens has a fine forehand and she smashes it beyond Williams to keep things level.

    *Murray 6-1 1-0 Bublik

Alexander Bublik opens up the second set with his fifth double fault. He's livid about that.

The Kazakhstan-born 20-year-old recovers to 40-15 and overpowers Murray with a brutal backhand.

But soon Murray hits back and breaks again. It's all going the Briton's way at the moment.

  13. 'That's not the right ball'published at 13:45 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

An interesting moment here from Laura Robson's match - Hawk-Eye appears to have got its wires crossed and showed the wrong point during a review. It cost Robson the point and she went on to lose in straight sets to Beatriz Haddad Maia.

    Boris Becker
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

The scoreline doesn't indicate that it was a very good first set played by Bublik, his first on Centre Court, which can be very intimidating. But Andy looked better and better as the set went on.

  15. Game and first setpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

    Murray 6-1 Bublik

This is going rather swimmingly for the world number one.

Andy Murray moves to 40-0 and has three set points.

Can he see this out? Absolutely. Bublik's scooped effort goes low into the net and the first set belongs to Murray.

  16. Nishikori wins first setpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

    Nishikori 6-2 Cecchinato

OK, not a bagel in the end - Marco Cecchinato even showed a bit of resistance to get a break back - but ninth seed Kei Nishikori is through his first set of the tournament easy enough, winning it 6-2.

  17. Murray breaks againpublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

    *Murray 5-1 Bublik

The umpire's had a bit of a mare, and has called out an Andy Murray return when it was very much in.

    Replayed point.

Murray fires across court to break again. In control.

    Shapovalov 4-6 6-3 3-6 2-1 Janowicz*

A topsy-turvy match has shifted back Jerzy Janowicz's way, he takes the third set 6-3 and the onus is back on Denis Shapovalov to get after the Pole's booming serve.

    *Murray 4-1 Bublik

After a lovely exchange at the net, Murray comes out on top as he pounces with a volley.

Bublik then tries a backhand lob on the next point, but it doesn't outsmart a prowling Murray, who delicately tips over for 30-40.

Break point is saved by Bublik to take us to deuce, and then the 20-year-old has the advantage, but he double faults again.

We end up at a third deuce after another entertaining rally, and Murray's delicate hands work their magic again as he brings up another break point...

    *Williams 3-3 Mertens

Now then. Elise Mertens is starting to dictate play on Court One.

She's found her feet and forced Venus to start moving to meet those shots. A fine backhand winner at the net from Williams is cancelled out by a stonking forehand down the line from Mertens.

Neither player is giving much away and Mertens whizzes an ace down the T. All square.
