    Pliskova 6-4 0-1 Wozniacki*

So Wozniacki to serve first in the second set.

She was outplayed in the first set by the rangy Pliskova who used her height well to dominate in all areas of the court.

But Wozniacki is ticking along nicely.

She holds after a short delay before her serve.

I'm not sure what caught her eye there, but a group of seagulls are being extremely noisy above the court.

We've been having problems with birds all week.

    Remember the pigeon?

Thank you for getting in touch with us to translate that conversation between Wozniacki and her coach during the first set.

In case you can't speak Polish, like me, this is apparently what was said.

Barbara Sowa: Translation: You're playing well. Try body service into her backhand side and be aware of her backhand short crosses.

    Pliskova 5-4 Wozniacki*

Wozniacki has done little wrong so far this afternoon but she's struggling to contend with the power of Pliskova.

A strong cross-court forehand though finds Pliskova flat-footed and the Czech is nowhere near a return.

Wozniacki is grinding out the games and pulls out a good serve to move back within one game.

    Pliskova 4-3 Wozniacki*

    Pliskova is looking fierce.

Wozniacki challenges a call, but loses as Pliskova's forehand is called in. A perfectly judged strike.

But the Dane is staying calm and importantly holds her serve as Pliskova sends a wild shot down the tram lines.

    *Pliskova 4-2 Wozniacki

That's the first ace of the final as Pliskova's serve looks to be ramping up now.

The Czech stands at 6ft 1in and she's towering over Wozniacki at the moment.

In the blink of an eye, she consolidates her break with a love hold.

    Simple.

    *Pliskova 2-2 Wozniacki

A much better game from Pliskova.

Her huge serve is beginning to work well and she changes things up by following in at the net.

A beautiful sliced forehand lands just over the net leaving Wozniacki in the back court and brings up the hold.

    Pliskova 1-2 Wozniacki*

This game hasn't got the intensity of a final yet.

It's humid and muggy out there and the players look a little bit sluggish.

    A relaxed start...

Former British number one on BBC One

Wozniacki's energy in the warm-up was obvious but Pliskova was so lackadaisical I would be going mad if I was her coach. You cannot afford slow starts in matches like this.

    Pliskova 1-2 Wozniacki*

Nothing to choose between these two so far.

Both players are staying central on the baseline and it takes a big cross-court backhand from Pliskova to beat Wozniacki.

But the former world number one replies with two strong forehands to hold her serve.
