Wozniacki has done little wrong so far this afternoon but she's struggling to contend with the power of Pliskova.

A strong cross-court forehand though finds Pliskova flat-footed and the Czech is nowhere near a return.

Wozniacki is grinding out the games and pulls out a good serve to move back within one game.

That's the first ace of the final as Pliskova's serve looks to be ramping up now.

The Czech stands at 6ft 1in and she's towering over Wozniacki at the moment.

Wozniacki's energy in the warm-up was obvious but Pliskova was so lackadaisical I would be going mad if I was her coach.You cannot afford slow starts in matches like this.

Nothing to choose between these two so far.

Both players are staying central on the baseline and it takes a big cross-court backhand from Pliskova to beat Wozniacki.

But the former world number one replies with two strong forehands to hold her serve.

Pliskova changes things up with a deft little chip over the net and Wozniacki just gets there too late.

Another big serve from the Czech brings up the game and we're level at 1-1.

World number six Wozniacki earns the first point on Pliskova's serve but the Czech flies a strong backhand down the line which leaves Wozniacki wrong-footed.

And it's another brilliant shot from behind the baseline. That two-handed backhand is serving her well so far.

A long rally, 17 shots, in just the third point of the final is eventually won by Wozniacki who sends a huge forehand cross-court and Pliskova dribbles a return in the net.

Wozniacki follows up with a big serve and a comfortable hold in the first game.

And the Dane is off to a good start. Pliskova's return sails over the backline.
