    Thiem 4-6 1-2 Pospisil

Dominic Thiem, who has shot up the rankings in the last year or so, has taken the first set against Vasek Pospisil of Canada on Court One.

The Austrian eighth seed has never gone further than the second round at Wimbledon, but he might fancy his chances this year after a decent clay season.

  2. Tie-break and first set - Dimitrovpublished at 18:10 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    Dimitrov 7-6 (7-4) Schwartzman

Still nothing between these two as they trade points to reach 3-3 in the tie-break.

Tremendous construction from Dimitrov to move into the net and finish with the volley to win a point on Schwartzman's serve.

He consolidates - just - with a deep forehand winner to move two points from the set.

The first is there as Schwartzman goes long. The Argentinian grabs one back but Dimitrov still has two set points.

And there it is! Schwartzman drops shot, Dimitrov gets there and stays upright to volley the response just out of the Argentinian's reach.

Relief for the 13th seed as he takes the first set.

Kristina Mladenovic must be in a hurry. The 12th seed from France has taken the first set against her compatriot Pauline Parmentier 6-1 in under half an hour.

    *Chardy 3-6 6-3 1-2 Berdych

Now then. Tomas Berdych has got himself into - and then back out of - a bit of trouble.

A couple of wafty forehands have brought up two break points for Jeremy Chardy, but Berdych saves one with an ace and the second with a clattering forehand.

    He'll hold. Just.

    *Babos 4-5 Wozniacki

Caroline Wozniacki is a game away from winning the first set on Centre Court against Timea Babos.

Before she heads back on to the court after a drinks break, she has a word with the umpire and tells him to 'pay attention' to something happening in Babos' game.

And then she orders the ballboy to move her towel from the floor back on to her chair.

    Bit awkward.

  7. Dimitrov breaks back - tie-breakpublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    *Dimitrov 6-6 Schwartzman

A double fault from Schwartzman opens the door for Dimitrov at 15-30.

Ah but the Bulgarian belts one long when seemingly well set in a rally and it's 30-30.

Terrific return from Dimitrov and Schwartzman is now on the back foot, firing a forehand wide.

Break point...and Dimitrov converts, ramping up the pressure in a lovely-looking rally until Schwartzman errs, thumping it into the net.

We will have a tie-break, but not how I initially thought we'd get there.

    Dimitrov 5-6 Schwartzman*

Ooo, Dimitrov suddenly in trouble on his serve as Schwartzman starts tucking into it.

The Argentinian has a break point. First serve looks long but Dimitrov challenges and it's just tickled the edge of the line.

First serve again, out. Huge second serve but Schwartzman gets it back and defends brillianlty as Dimitrov fails to get close enough with a slide and his volley drifts into the net.

Schwartzman will serve for the first set.

    Chardy 3-6 6-3 Berdych

Jeremy Chardy has hit back against Tomas Berdych on court two.

Having lost the first set 6-3, Frenchman Chardy has responded with the same score to level the match.

Berdych is the 11th seed who was knocked out by Andy Murray in the semi-final last year.

All level in this one and it looks like staying that way, neither player doing much on the other's serve.

    Tie-break ahoy?

  12. New mum Azarenka critical of schedulepublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

Former world number one Victoria Azarenka, who recently became a mother, has complained about the "tough" schedule at Wimbledon after having to wait all day at the All England Club for her first-round match.

Azarenka, who reached the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2011 and 2012, played on Monday for only the third time since giving birth to her son Leo in December last year.

Her match with CiCi Bells was not scheduled for a specific court on the order of play, filed under 'to be announced'.

The match eventually got under way at 19:03 BST, with Azarenka winning 3-6 6-2 6-1.

"I had to be here the whole day, which, for a new mum, is a little tough," she said. "Hopefully I won't play like this again."

    Babos 2-2 Wozniacki

Timea Babos, in her sixth Wimbledon championship, holds to love to level the first set 2-2 on Centre Court against fifth seed Caroline Wozniacki.

It's good to see a large majority of the crowd have stuck around to watch this one, after the disappointment of the retirements in the men's first round earlier this afternoon.

    Dimitrov 3-2 Schwartzman*

Grigor Dimitrov is up and running against Diego Schwartzman on court 12.

'Baby Fed' reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2014 but hasn't been beyond the third round since.

He got off to a fine start, reeling off three straight games but Argentina's Schwartzman has held and then broken to love to peg the Bulgarian 13th seed back.

He posted a message on Instagram, following his defeat by Ruben Bemelmans yesterday, saying: "The sun set with me @wimbledon last night with my last match....my 16th appearance on court 16 winning 16 games. So thankful for all the experiences at SW19."

    The 39-year-old German was a semi-finalist here in 2009.
