  1. Nishikori on the boardpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Nishikori 4-6 6-7 (3-7) 6-3 Bautista Agut

Kei Nishikori finally gets a set on the board.

The Japanese player does it the hard way, having been 30-0 up, he allows Roberto Bautista Agut to get back to deuce.

But a missed forehand from the Spaniard and then a forehand winner from Nishikori secures the set for the ninth seed, who celebrates with a big fist pump.

He heads off to the toilets, while Bautista Agut calls for the trainer and then changes his shirt and his socks.

    Azarenka 3-6 6-1 Watson*

So where was Azarenka the better player in the second set? Well, almost everywhere.

Watson's first serve in percentage edged up a bit from the first set, but is still well below what is needed. Azarenka just too good in set two.

  3. Game and second setpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Azarenka 3-6 6-1 Watson*

The break point for Watson drifts away, Azarenka takes the next and has a set point.

Watson, deep at the back of the court, tries to find the baseline, but puts too much power into it, Azarenka celebrates, she takes the set and, for the first time ever in matches between these players, we go into a decider.

    Azarenka 3-6 5-1 Watson

I've spotted our first Union Jack flag in Centre. Some bloke in his 40s has draped it across the legs of himself and the lady sat next to him. You don't want those thighs burning in the afternoon sun, do you?

That bloke isn't David Beckham, by the way. Old Goldenballs and his mum Sandra are covered in Royal Box shade.

Looking back at the last five games, even though the scoreline says 5-1, they have all gone to deuce. She is very close.

  7. Weekend off for Mullerpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

That was an impressive performance from Gilles Muller to dispatch Aljaz Bedene in three sets - that's 13 sets of singles and doubles in three days for the man from Luxembourg. He will appreciate the benefit of playing on Friday, and so enjoy two days off rather than one. Especially as he might have to face Rafael Nadal on Monday.

  9. Nishikori breaks in third setpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Nishikori 4-6 6-7 (3-7) 5-3 Bautista Agut

We saw a nasty fall yesterday with Bethanie Mattek-Sands and now Roberto Bautista Agut has taken a tumble.

The Spaniard slips trying to get to a return and is left clutching his right knee.

Thankfully he is soon back on his feet but loses his service game and Kei Nishikori finally gets a break and will serve for the set.

Over on Court One, Cilic is close to wrapping up the second set. Here's his opponent Steve Johnson attempt a diving volley shot and almost colliding with his chair...

    Bedene out

Gilles Muller gets hearty applause from the disappointed partisan crowd, and has plenty of autographs to chalk up too. He hit 19 aces and won 82% of points on his first serve. He'll offer Rafa Nadal a test in the next round - should Nadal get through.

The sort of test Nadal should ace. But you never know.

  12. Azarenka breaks servepublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Azarenka 3-6 5-1 Watson*

On a break point, the first serve from Watson is no good and Azarenka gets a huge slice of luck as her two-hand backhand, from the baseline, clips the tape and bounces over to leave Watson stranded.

Azarenka breaks and will be serving for the second set.

    Bedene out

    Miles Maclagan

It was a great effort from Muller. A tight match. Nadal will have been supporting Bedene because that is who Muller will play in the next round and he will be a tricky opponent. He knows his way around the court.

    Azarenka 3-6 4-1 Watson*

And we go into game six of set two. A two-handed backhand drifted wide from Watson, and then, crouching down almost on her knees, she can only find the bottom of the net.

The frustration is starting to show and she then comes up with a double fault and once again she is facing a battle to hold on to her serve. Deuce.

  18. Cilic in cruise control, Johnson in painpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Johnson 4-6 1-4 Cilic

Marin Cilic already leads Steve Johnson by a set and now the Croatian is a break up in the second set.

The American has requested a trainer and he seems to be examining Johnson's little finger on his right hand.

Replays suggest Johnson jammed it down on the court, diving for a back hand.

It looks painful but Johnson seems happy to shake it off.

    We go on.

    Azarenka 3-6 4-1 Watson*

A double fault, the fifth of the match from Azarenka, keeps us interested in game five, but the Belarusian takes the next two points, including coming out on top of a lengthy rally to move into a 4-1 lead.

She yelps out a 'come on' scream and produces a pump of a fist as she keeps a stranglehold on the second set.
