    Bedene 6-7 5-7 2-2 Muller

Muller is foxed by some top spin by Bedene and can only punt a forehand wide as a result. Can Bedene build some pressure on the Muller serve as a result? A lengthy rally ends with Bedene drifting long. Disappointing.

Muller loops in an ace to level us up.

    Azarenka 3-6 1-0 Watson*

The second game starts with Watson taking the opening two points, but Azarenka wins the next time - with a volley at the net and then watching as Watson drifts a backhand wide.

Soon after, Watson, again having to rely on her second serve, can then only hit the top of the net with a forehand to take us to deuce.

And Azarenka moves to a break point with a forehand error from Watson.

    Bedene 6-7 5-7 2-1 Muller

Bevo (13:41), if you're reading this I think I speak for everyone when I ask:

    • What was the dessert?
    • and what sort of bag did she have? Not a coolbag or coolbox I presume. That's her main error. You can't put a trifle in a handbag though can you?

Anyway, back on court and it's now or never really for Aljaz Bedene. He has to win this set and he holds serve comfortably enough.

And we are into set two on Centre, with Azarenka holding serve to take the opening game.

    Azarenka 3-6 0-0 Watson

    Jonathan Jurejko

Andy Murray spoke in his latest BBC Sport column about how the Centre Court crowd can really help a home player (check it out...) and Heather Watson is the kind of player who thrives on this backing.

Every winner is met with an ear-splitting roar, every stray shot is met with a groan. It's only because they care.

Watson has been here before remember, in that thriller against Serena Williams a couple of years ago. She can handle it. As she proves by fighting back from the dodgy service game to break back and serve out for the set.

    Centre is buzzing.

    *Azarenka 3-6 Watson

A very positive set from Heather Watson. The biggest thing is how she has been serving.

She is obviously moving well and putting pressure on Vika.

When I first saw Vika when she came back, I noticed she looks leaner and has lost a little muscle since having her baby.

Her shots don't seem quite as powerful - she was always able to find an extra shot to win a rally but I haven't seen that back in her game yet.

    *Azarenka 3-6 Watson

And this is how Heather Watson took the opening set.

She will be wanting to get more first serves in after only 57% in set one, but she had two break points, and ruthlessly took both of them, while only making four unforced errors.

    Bedene 6-7 5-7 1-1 Muller

Sadly, there's to be no break just yet as Muller holds comfortably, taking his first game of the third set without dropping a point.

    Bedene 6-7 5-7 1-0 Muller

Just the tonic for Bedene as he kicks off the third set with a very solid service game.

An early break now would give him real belief.

    *Azarenka 3-6 Watson

This could be a crucial phase of the match. We are at 30-30 with Watson serving for the first set.

On her second serve, Azarenka is well placed to punish a weak serve, but she overhits it to give Watson a first ever set point against her opponent.

Azarenka can only then hit a return into the top of the net and Watson, to the delight of the home crowd, wins set one.

Can Bedene come back from two sets down? If he does, it will be some comeback but he's looking leggy out there.

Muller made 16 unforced errors in the first set, down to eight in the second. He appears to be only getting stronger.

It's hotter than the Gobi Desert* inside court two and Aljaz Bedene is two sets down and battling to stay in Wimbledon... but his problems are nothing compared to the woman who is sitting behind me in this sun trap, and delving cautiously into her bag in between points to inspect her lunch.

"Everything is hotting up," she complains as she digs out a wilting sandwich. The real horror is yet to come, however: "Nooooo! The pudding - it's melted everywhere!"

*Almost... it's 29 degrees at Wimbledon today - one degree cooler than it is in deepest Mongolia.

  18. Immediate break back for Watsonpublished at 13:40 British Summer Time 7 July 2017

    Azarenka 3-5 Watson*

How will Watson respond after losing her advantage? Well, she makes a promising start as a sweeping forehand leaves Azarenka stranded for the opening point of the eighth game.

Moments later, the Brit, holding a 30-15 lead, moves to a break point after a double fault from Azarenka.

And Watson takes it. She lost her advantage in the last game, and within minutes won it back again. She will now serve for the set. Thrilling stuff on Centre Court.

    Bedene 6-7 5-7 Muller

Bedene gives himself hope with a fine top-spin lob to take the second point of the game and make it 15-15 but Muller's serving has been on point today and he gives himself two set points. Bedene saves the first but Muller nails it with an ace down the centre line and takes the second set.

It's a long road from here for Bedene.

Roberto Bautista Agut is two sets to the good now against ninth seed Kei Nishikori, after edging a tense tie-break 7-3.

The Japanese player just stops himself from smashing his racket on the court, after losing the set.

The Spaniard is lifting his game in the crunch points and Nishikori is starring down the barrel of a third round exit on Court Three.
