Muller has every reason to look a little jaded as he played a five-set singles match on Wednesday, and was here until late yesterday losing a five-set doubles match. On the back of a successful but busy grass-court season of 12 matches and counting, the 34-year-old might start feeling it if this one goes long too.

Who says elite sports stars can't have fun?! Gael Monfils and Caroline Wozniacki are having a bit of bantz as they hit on adjacent practice courts.

Monfils, stood in front of tens of fans stood on a viewing platform, gets them whooping and cheering by showing off his keepy uppy skills. That's with his right foot and the edge of his racquet.

Wozzy adds to the entertainment with a couple of through-the-legs hot dog shots. Gael clocks them, grins and shouts over his appreciation. Before diving on the court covers a minute later.

    Bedene 5-6 Muller

Gilles Muller is the only man from Luxembourg to have competed in a Grand Slam tournament in the Open Era. Gaston Wampach, who played at 1946 and 1947 Roland Garros, is the only other Luxembourg man in history to have contested a Grand Slam event.

Just thought you'd like to know. Bedene is again serving to stay in the set, and he's in trouble. 0-30 after a shot dies on him, laces height.

Digs it back to 30-30. This is gutsy on his own serve at the moment from Bedene. Muller slips as Bedene volleys past him, but Muller then finds a cracking volley of his own. Deuce.

Bedene is then wide! Second set point for Muller...

Saved! A tame return in truth, into the net.

Unbelievable - Bedene was just walking side to side!

Against Karlovic, he had 44 aces come towards him so he is used to it.

Even though both players haven't been as consistent as they would like, Bedene's confidence will be soaring after the way he held serve there.

Well played Bedene, a cracking drop shot out of the blue to bring up game point, and then another crunching serve to save it.

    Bedene 4-5 Muller

Umpire getting upset with people taking their seats at the changeover, it's not the darts. Bedene serving to stay in the set as Muller lashes a cracking return past him.

30-30. Big point in the set. He needs a first serve, doesn't get one. Wide. Muller capitalises, stepping into a tame second serve and pumping an inside out forehand winner!Set point Muller...

Bedene slips in the rally but carries on, and Muller finds the net! Well scrambled. Back to deuce.

Not the best of starts for Japan's Kei Nishikori out on Court Three.

The 18th seed in the ascendancy at the moment.

    Bedene 4-5 Muller

Gilles Muller is a good volleyer but he can do nothing with that one, a fine return rifled into his shins. Reaches for the next one though and smashes past Bedene. And another volley.

Neither player are at their best but it's compelling stuff. Muller holds with a loopy ace.

    John Lloyd

Well, Gilles Muller gave a sarcastic thumbs up to his coaching team there when he broke back.

The look of him, you would expect he was two sets down.

That to me says he is a little fatigued from his previous round match.

Seeing an opponent with negativity coming out of him like that is a lovely tonic. Bedene should try to use that.

    Bedene 3-4 Muller

Muller saves one break point with an unplayable serve into the body of Bedene, and then a classic serve and volley brings up deuce. Bedene then whips a passing shot beyond the man from Luxembourg to bring up a third chance - double fault!

    Break right back.
