During an end of set 'comfort' break (too much info?), I noticed an increase in human traffic around Court Three.

Now that's probably increased further. Especially after those drifting about outside heard the roar when Jay Clarke and Marcus Willis broke serve early in this decider.

They're three games from a brilliant win!

Federer - you little scamp! Hot-dogging through your legs, you show off.

The showboating doesn't pay off though as Zverev returns.

However, the Swiss goes on to hold.

As an aside, does anyone else think Mischa Zverev looks like Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey?

    Uncanny.

    Zverev 6-7 (3-7) 4-6 1-2 Federer*

Mischa Zverev mutters to himself as he double faults for 30-30.

A clean backhand winner from Federer earns the Swiss break point and it's gifted to him after another double fault from the German. He'll be disappointed with that.

    *Zverev 6-7 (3-7) 4-6 1-1 Federer

Even though Zverev puts a little bit of pressure on Federer during his service, the Swiss still bosses it at the end and taps over at the net to hold.

    On we go.

  9. Game and second set - Federerpublished at 19:44 British Summer Time 8 July 2017

    Zverev 6-7 (3-7) 4-6 Federer

Fergus Murphy, the umpire, almost has to make another catch! He's a busy man.

Federer's in a spot of bother here after a double fault and a cracking winner by Zverev.

But the Swiss recovers and has a set point, which he takes with a forehand into an empty court.

    Bingo.

'Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahey', scream Centre Court as the umpire makes a good catch in the chair.

He looks nonplussed by his cat-like reactions, ever the professional.

Zverev goes on to hold and it's up to Fed to take the set.

Well that escalated quickly. From three set points to three break points for the British boys.

Jay Clarke and Marcus Willis save two of them, home fans leaping to their feet in jubilation.

What about the third? Nope. Clarke's cheeky lob is too long.

French fourth seeds Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut are now serving to take this match into a decider.

It will help Zverev's cause if Federer misses a few first serves, but that doesn't happen too often at the business end of these sets.

Blimey. Jay Clarke and Marcus Willis are a break away from the match!

There's hardly anyone in the court who isn't grinning and fist-pumping at the moment. Apart from the French..

Federer can hurt you in so many ways; he has a good serve, hits his shots, gets his returns, not afraid to come forward, great athlete. Not many areas to attack
