    Del Potro 1-1 Paire*

Juan Martin del Potro seems to glide into every groundstroke, never fazed.

The fifth seed scuttles to a hold that is only briefly interrupted by Benoit Paire sliding a lovely backhand winner down the line.

Right then, we're under way on court two.

Benoit Paire is keeping that bleach blonde barnet covered up with a baseball cap for the minute as he serves first against Juan Martin del Potro.

    What a fantastic early point!

The pair slapping volleys at each other a yard either side of the net like they're knocking around on the beach, before Delpo takes it.

Exhibition tennis to kick this one off, but the Frenchman holds.

England fans Alex and his dad Ray have come to Wimbledon prepared to watch the tennis and the football.

They queued up all night to get into Wimbledon and Alex has got his ipad with him to make sure they get the best of both worlds - although they say they will duck out of the tennis for a bit to catch the football.

"We were quite please to see it was Kerber v Osaka on court when the England match is on," Ray said.

First up, there's a potential cracker in the early match on court two.

Juan Martin del Potro swept past Feliciano Lopez 6-4 6-1 6-2 in less than two hours in the last round.

Victory for the fifth seed tees up a clash with France's Benoit Paire, who beat 26th seed Denis Shapovalov 0-6 6-2 6-4 7-6 (7-3) last time out.

In the men's competition, another exciting talent, Australian Alex de Minaur, will play two-time champion Rafael Nadal (first on Centre Court). The 19-year-old reached two consecutive ATP semi-finals this year - the youngest to do so since Nadal in 2005.

BBC Sport caught up with Kyle Edmund's coach Fredrik Rosengren during Friday's practice.

He says his player's victory over Novak Djokovic in Madrid has been vital for his state of mind going into Saturday's encounter.

"Every match when you beat the bigger names, you grow in confidence and know that you deserve to play these guys," he said.

"Whatever happens on Saturday it will be a good thing for his improvement to play that match. It will help him the next time he steps onto the centre court anywhere in the world. It's about playing big names on big courts."

He added: "We will talk more about the match on Saturday morning, but for me it is more about the belief, the belief he can do it. Kyle showed that before - it's about finding the balance between not being too excited, but still playing to win the match."

Great Britain's Davis Cup captain Leon Smith has both watched and nurtured the development of Kyle Edmund since the 23-year-old made his Davis Cup debut in 2014.

He has been impressed with the progress made so far and is adamant Edmund has enough ability to defeat the Serb. However, he warned that the Yorkshire player will have to be at near 100% to overcome Novak Djokovic - the 12th seed, and current world number 21.

"Kyle's been displaying three main areas of improvement: the rhythm and timing of the serve - he's posting higher speeds," Smith said.

"Then there's the return of serve, especially on grasscourt - he's making way more balls. And the movement - he's looking physically strong.

"All those three components will need to be firing because Djokovic will be the people's favourite."

Kyle Edmund is the only Brit left in both the men's and women's singles draw, and will head to Centre Court with coach Fredrik Rosengren urging him to enjoy the moment.

"To play one of the best guys ever in tennis on the most famous court on home soil, in my opinion it can't be bigger than that," said Rosengren.

"That is something he has to be very proud of. He has achieved so much so it's great, but at the same time you have to find a balance of not being too excited, you go in and try to play to win.

"He is in unbelievably good shape mentally. We talk a lot about that, to enjoy it. Sometimes we all forget the joy of playing."
