    *Edmund 6-4 3-4 Djokovic

Kyle Edmund, charging to his right, almost overrunning as he tries to meet a Novak Djokovic whip, has just timed a forehand winner to absolute perfection.

I can't believe he managed to angle that in.

    Advantage Edmund...

Too much spin on a sliced backhand from Kyle Edmund, and Djokovic has another break point...

And again, another huge serve out wide sets up Edmund to move forward and smash a winner!

    40-40.

    *Edmund 6-4 3-4 Djokovic

An overworked forehand from Kyle Edmund hands Novak Djokvoic the first point on serve, despite Djokovic looking all out of the rally.

A big serve takes us to 15-15 but a couple of errors on the forehand hand Djokovic two break points...

Not sure how many challenges Alexander Zverev has got right, but it seems like every time he calls it he gets it spot on. Get him a job in the chair...

Another couple of quick holds means it remains on serve in an edgy fourth set.

Kyle came out with the intention to take it to Novak. Djokovic is not going for it, not sure what he wants to do yet, and Edmund deserves a lot of credit for this early lead.

I keep waiting for Djokovic to step it up to the next gear. So far it hasn't happened for Novak.

A double fault from Kyle Edmund, serving out of the shade, first up.

Oh, that's better. A serve down the T sets Edmund up for a backhand winner, and then Djokovic lets a big serve out wide crash into the top of his racquet.

And again! Lovely stuff from Edmund, and the Brit holds to 15.

    *Zverev 6-7 (2-7) 6-4 7-5 1-2 Gulbis

A couple of quick holds exchanged before Alexander Zverev rips in and starts to apply some pressure to the Ernests Gulbis serve.

Zverev gets another challenge right, and that cranks up the nerves another notch.

The bearded Gulbis shanks a double fault and a deep Zverev forehand brings up break point.

But the Latvian fights back - he holds and it remains on serve in the fourth set.

Novak Djokovic gets ratty with one of the ball kids when they don't give him a ball quick enough.

It's like he got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning. Will a hold to love cheer him up?

Djokovic has to realise when he gets too defensive and drops too far behind the baseline, with Edmund releasing these forehands, there is only going to be one winner.

    *Edmund 6-4 1-2 Djokovic

Ace down the T to start with from Edmund but Djokovic steers a backhand down the line - and onto it - to bring us back to 15-15. Ooh - Edmund tries a smash from the baseline after some Djoko hustle and goes way, way long. That hammer of a forehand brings up 40-30 for the Brit. He goes long on the next point, though, and we're at deuce.

Kyle Edmund gets the first point on the Novak Djokovic serve and the Serb puts all his irritation into a ace for 40-15.

In fact, Djokovic should close out the game but a bad move to the net allows Edmund to pass him.

Oops. That's a shank from Edmund, and Djokovic holds.

Crash. A big serve down the T and Novak Djokovic, despite some spirited defence, can't help but whip a forehand long.
