    *Nadal 4-6 6-3 6-7 (9-11) 0-0 Djokovic

Rafael Nadal ups the intensity a touch, the grunting level goes up too as he slams a backhand deep into Djokovic territory and skips into the net to volley a winner that saves the breaker.

Eleven minutes and counting, and we're not off the mark yet today...

The two Duchesses are certainly enjoying the (re)start to this one!

What an opening game in the fourth set of this second men's semi-final. And it goes on... Rafael Nadal edges to advantage, only for Novak Djokovic to fight back with some vicious baseline strokes.

    Deuce again.

  5. Nadal saves break pointpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 14 July 2018

    *Nadal 4-6 6-3 6-7 (9-11) 0-0 Djokovic

We've reached the three-hour mark (or five minutes for today...)

Rafael Nadal hammers down a big, leaping serve to stave off the break point, but then finds himself on the run as Novak Djokovic conducts the point, only to pop his final effort long.

Djokovic slaps a return winner back with interest. We're back to deuce.

  6. Break point Djokovicpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 14 July 2018

    *Nadal 4-6 6-3 6-7 (9-11) 0-0 Djokovic

That's the first Rafa fist pump!

It follows a deep winner, but Novak Djokovic won't be shaken off that easily - a huge return that Nadal could barely blink at.

What a rally. 22 shots, before Nadal undercooks a slice.

    Break point Djokovic.

It is never easy after three hours resuming at the beginning of a set.

You know you've got to get off to a fast start, certainly if you are in the Nadal camp.

  8. What a start!published at 13:14 British Summer Time 14 July 2018

    *Nadal 4-6 6-3 6-7 (9-11) 0-0 Djokovic

Magnificent. What an opening couple of points as Novak Djokovic takes the opener and then moves Rafael Nadal around Centre Court, before the Spaniard whips a superb backhand winner down the line.

Nadal fizzes a low slice over the tape, but the Serb is there and forces the world number one to go wide for 30-30.

  9. Nadal to serve firstpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 14 July 2018

    *Nadal 4-6 6-3 6-7 (9-11) 0-0 Djokovic

So one of these players chose to keep the conditions the same as last night, that means keeping the roof closed...

Boris Becker says he suspects it was Novak Djokovic.

Rafael Nadal, having removed a butterfly from the air above the service line, will restart this one.

Paul: I hope Djokovic and Nadal play the full 2 sets today. If Nadal can somehow put last night out of his mind and see this as a best of 3 that he needs to win 2-0 it might well be a truly astonishing spectacle.

Monty: Round Two! Not the warm up we might have expected for the women's final, but what an added bonus! Let's be having two sets, please, and let both of them be won by Rafael Nadal ¡Vamos!

This is Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic's 52nd meeting, the most between two players in the Open Era, with the Serb currently leading 26-25 in their head-to-head.

But while this last-four tie had to be postponed overnight, it will have to go some to match up to their 2012 Australian Open final meeting - which has gone down in the record books as the longest Grand Slam final, lasting five hours and 53 minutes - and finishing at 1.37am - before Djokovic prevailed.

We should look back at the match between Nadal and Juan Martin Del Potro, where he was two sets to one down and came back.

Nadal has been in this position before, two sets to one down, and I think he will come back today and win in five.

This is the beginning of the end.

The Hill is once again packed - there is cloud - welcome respite from the earlier beating sun - but there should be no need for brollies.

We go again soon. They've got a heck of a treat in store as the main movies on the big screen are the rest of Nadal v Djokovic followed by Williams v Kerber.

Angela Lax and her daughter have come down from Lichfield for the women's final after winning the tickets in the ballot.

"I was watching Anderson and Isner yesterday and when it went that long we knew there wouldn't be time for to finish," says Angela.

"So we were getting quite excited that we'd get to see Nadal and Djokovic, and then the ladies' final, because I knew the rule about lights out at 11pm.

"Actually I felt quite smug! It's the icing on the cake.

"I'm really looking to the ladies' final because it's a mum and it should be a really good contest."

  20. Why is it being played today?published at 12:59 British Summer Time 14 July 2018

    Centre CourtImage source, PA

Well, with play not getting started until gone 20:00 BST, Wimbledon bosses took the decision to close the roof on Centre Court.

This meant the Nadal-Djokovic semi-final could get started, but it was always unlikely to finish before the 23:00 curfew imposed on matches at the All England Club by Merton Council.

There was some discussion whether play would resume before or after the women's final - originally scheduled for a 14:00 start - before it was decided the men's semi final would begin at 13:00.
