Zverev has a huge amount of fight which you can see in the way he expresses himself on the court.

However, the obvious issue for him is the amount of tennis he will have played here.

You have to accept there will be more extended rallies on clay and it will take its toll on you as the tournament goes on which could be an issue, especially if Nadal remains relatively fresh.

  4. Zverev into fifth setpublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 1 June 2018

    Zverev 6-2 4-6 4-6 7-6 (7-3) Dzumhur

Alexander Zverev has won the tie-break to take Dami Dzumhur to a fifth set over on Philippe-Chatrier Court.

Dzumhur had his chance when he served for the match but you would think second seed Zverev has the momentum now.

But you never know - could there be a massive shock?

    Bautista Agut 4-6 1-3 Djokovic*

Magnificent. A drop shot of such calibre it draws a raised arm of appreciation from Novak Djokovic. Superb from Roberto Bautista Agut, who had his opponent doing shuttles there before deftly clipping over from deep.

A good hold to get on the board in the second set.

    *Bautista Agut 4-6 0-3 Djokovic

Bautista Agut finds some pace from the baseline, and it forces Djokovic to pop a backhand long.

The Serb skips around a number of balls to take them on his forehand side on the next point and this time it's he who rushes the Spaniard into an error.

    *Bautista Agut 4-6 0-3 Djokovic

Bautista Agut sprung into this third-round meeting, but he's gradually being worn down by the experienced world number 20.

Djokovic gallops into the net to meet a high ball and thwacks it beyond his opponent with venom.

Not much noise from an engrossed Lenglen crowd - then the air is punctured by a throat-hurting yell from by Djokovic on his way to the early break.

That jolted a young lady down to my right who was checking her phone. Hope she was checking the Zverev score rather than texting her mate.

    Bautista Agut 4-6 0-2 Djokovic*

What sort of response can the Spaniard muster?

Novak Djokovic is clicking through the gears now, but a backhand that jumps wide of the top of the net hands Roberto Bautista Agut a way back in.

    30-30.

Getting the opening set and the early break will move Djokovic up a gear

We've seen him attacking now with the forehand and I think we will see him in full flow soon.

    *Bautista Agut 4-6 0-1 Djokovic

A scream from the Serb, but it's frustration rather than celebration as he frames a return well off target.

He'll get another chance though, reading that Bautista Agut crosscourt stroke like it was published especially for him.

    *Bautista Agut 4-6 0-1 Djokovic

Perhaps I jinxed Bautista Agut, two aces in this game but he then serves up a double.

It means a break point for Djokovic.

    *Bautista Agut 4-6 0-1 Djokovic

A bit sloppy from the Spaniard as he gets underneath a backhand and lofts it long.

A second ace will do the trick, he's found form off his serve has Bautista Agut in this game.

But Djokovic scrambles, and gets the luck as a slice clips the net and drops in his favour, that's deuce.

    *Bautista Agut 4-6 0-1 Djokovic

Whipper from Bautista Agut, right down the T to chalk up another ace. He'll be hoping to rattle through service games quicker than in the first set.

But Djokovic responds with a winner down the line to make it 30-15.

Not much between Djokovic and Bautista Agut in that opening set - apart from the extra inch of physical and mental toughness which makes you a 12-time Grand Slam champion.

The Spaniard hit one more winner and made one less unforced error than his illustrious opponent. It still wasn't quite enough.

    *Bautista Agut 4-6 0-1 Djokovic

Well that certainly threw me out, Djokovic returns for the second set with a different colour shirt - going from black to white. I'm assuming it's down to the heat, rather than a mid-90s Manchester United-style swap at Southampton because they felt the colour was affecting their game...

It's not changed the direction of this one so far, Djokovic holds serve in the opening game of the second set.

That was a tough set. So many extended rallies and it was a big step forward by Djokovic.

Bautista Agut did a lot of running in that set and that will surely take its toll as the match goes on.

Djokovic has been hitting the ball well but Bautista Agut has been so strong in the corners and so strong mentally.

It has been unbelievable quality from both players.
