  1. 'Munar has forgotten what he did to get ahead'published at 17:51 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Edmund 4-2 Munar

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

It seems like Munar has forgotten what he did to get ahead of Kyle Edmund. He used slice to make it harder for Edmund to generate speed. Now he's trying to hit it harder than Edmund.

He's gone from improvising to looking a little lost at the moment.

  2. 'Munar is looking a little lost'published at 17:50 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Edmund 4-2 Munar

"Munar is looking a little lost at the moment," says John McEnroe as Edmund holds to love in the blink of an eye to lead 4-2.

The Spaniard has lost all five of the matches he has played on grass in his career. Right now you can kind of see why.

    Vesely 4-6 6-3 6-2 7-5 Zverev

Drama on Court One, Alexander Zverev is OUT!

The sixth seed has just been beaten 4-6 6-3 6-2 7-5 by Czech world number 124 Jiri Vesely.

"It was a great match, fantastic from beginning to end," he said. "Overall I think I played an unbelievable match without many mistakes.

"I was playing really well, serving good and trying to go to the net. The pressure was a little bit on him, but he won the first set and then I started to play. I had nothing to lose anymore.

"After the second set the pressure came back on him. I tried to force it and all of a sudden I was two sets to one up. I think I have done really well today."

  5. Munar lacks Edmund's powerpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Edmund 3-2 Munar

Munar's serve is not such an impressive weapon. He keeps following it into the net, though, and keeps giving Edmund the chance to make inroads.

At 15-15, Munar stays back for once.... and soon regrets it as Edmund flashes a big forehand into the corner.

The next two points go Edmund's way too - Munar seems to be moving forward on every shot, and it is not working. That's three games in a row for the 30th seed.

    Fabbiano 6-4 3-6 6-4 6-7 (8-10) 1-1 Tsitsipas*

Over on BBC Two we have a great match between Italy's Thomas Fabbiano and seventh seed Stefanos Tsitsipas. It's one-one in the decider and on serve. Well worth a watch.

  7. Postpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Edmund 2-2 Munar

"A little mechanical" is John McEnroe's analysis of the Kyle Edmund serve. "At times it feels like it is a little tight, but when a player loosens up a little bit it gets so much easier."

The signs are that Edmund is doing exactly that. He holds to love, bringing loud yells of "c'mon Kyle" from the crowd.

  8. Edmund breaks backpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Edmund 1-2 Munar

You can see that Edmund has got the shots to hurt Munar though - the Spaniard knows he cannot stay back for long, because he does not have the power to live with the British number one from the baseline.

This time, when Munar comes into the net, Edmund is ready. A couple of Munar volleys droop into the net and Edmund has the instant break-back.

    *Fabbiano 6-4 3-6 6-4 6-7 (8-10) 0-1 Tsitsipas

Some epic entertainment on court two. Stefanos Tsitsipas slips twice in the same point and somehow keeps it going until Thomas Fabbiano punches away a volley at the net.

Tsitsipas slips again in the next point, but a double fault from Fabbiano means we are at deuce in a thrilling second game in the final set.

  10. 'Pressure off Munar'published at 17:37 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Edmund 1-2 Munar

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

No one expects Jaume Munar to win this match so you can see already the Spaniard is going to try something different.

He isn't comfortable at the net.

  12. Edmund broken early onpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Edmund 0-2 Munar

Neither player is exactly on top form coming into this one - Munar has lost his last seven matches, which is why his ranking has dropped from a career-high of 52 earlier this year.

Edmund's issues this year have been mainly to do with his left knee, which led to him withdrawing from the French Open during his second-round match.

He has won some games on grass this year - reaching the semi-finals at Eastbourne last month - but he has made a slow start here, with some wild shots from the back of the court seeing him broken at the first time of asking.

  13. 'Osaka has to go back to the drawing board'published at 17:35 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Putintseva 7-6 (7-4) 6-2) Osaka

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV at Wimbledon

Putintseva had a clear game plan to not give Osaka any rhythm - nothing was at the same height. Osaka had a chance to get a break back (at 3-2 in the second set) but she looked nervous and was over hitting.

Putintseva stuck with the game plan and so many players are able to get the set lead but not then able to hold on to it. Osaka has to go back to the drawing board. Everyone was putting her in the mix to win this tournament and she does not look comfortable.

She's one of the biggest stars in the world but so shy and when the spotlight is on you it is overwhelming.

    Fabbiano 6-4 3-6 6-4 6-7 (8-10) 0-0 Tsitsipas*

We're going all the way over on court two as Italian Thomas Fabbiano wastes two match points. Great character from seventh seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, who takes the fourth set tie-break 10-8. Into a decider we go.

  16. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 17:30 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Edmund 0-1 Munar

    That's got to hurt!

Munar fires down a serve, Edmund misses it completely... and the ball smashes a line judge plum in the face. He pretends it didn't hurt, but it looks like it did.

Munar goes on to take the opening game courtesy of some neat net play, but there were plenty of opportunities for Edmund too - when he got his racquet on the ball, obviously.

Now a second match point for Fabbiano as Tsitsipas slips as he plays the shot, sending it into the bottom of the net. 8-7 in the tie-break.

A fine deep serve from Tsitsipas and the return is begging to be put away, and Tsitsipas delivers to save that match point. 7-7 in the tie-break.

  20. Edmund under waypublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 1 July 2019

    Edmund 0-0 Munar

Here we go then. The British number one, on Centre Court.

Munar will serve first, but it is Edmund who wins the first point. The Spaniard reaches his short return, but dumps it into the net.
