    Harris 6-3 1-6 1-0 Federer*

    Boris Becker
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

He works so hard off the court. At 37, he is still one of the fittest players. It doesn't come naturally, you have to work for it.

I have seen him eating a doughnut, but he doesn't have it the night before the finals! Sure he has his Christmas meals and Easter breaks, he's a human being.

  3. Bogdan holds from deucepublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Bogdan 5-7 1-1 *Konta

Johanna Konta's return at 40-15 down is a thing of beauty, racquet head speed translating hip-and-arm whip into a blurring winner.

Ana Bogdan cuffs into the net on the next point and suddenly Konta is commanding forces and threatening to storm the Romanian's serve citadel.

But a bounce smash long and over-cooked groundstroke sees the pressure seep away like a popped balloon.

    Bogdan hold.

Panic over? The mood on Centre Centre suggests so. The Fed Heads are on their feet and are suddenly exuding positive energy.

The challenge for Harris was always going to be maintaining that sky-high level, especially when Federer started finding his touch and rhythm.

The Swiss maestro is starting to get his groove on, with Harris beginning to get some rushes of blood to the head.

    Harris 6-3 1-6 Federer

    Boris Becker
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

He really had to raise his game because Harris didn't start playing badly all of a sudden, it's just Federer is playing a lot better.

It is getting a little sunny on Court One. The fan who is inexplicably wearing a sombrero - with no other fancy dress in sight - looks like he has actually chosen his headwear wisely.

  13. 'Konta knows what she's doing'published at 15:34 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Martina Navratilova
Nine-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

That's what I like. The maturity of a pro that knows what she's doing. Johanna Konta made five unforced errors in a row at 5-4 but she didn't let it get her down - she took her opportunity to break Ana Bogdan there.

Overall there wasn't much between the players but Konta did just enough.

Rapturous (and a little relieved) applause from the Court One crowd as Johanna hits depth and forces Ana Bogdan to poke wide in response.

It has been a tight first set.

Bogdan won 80% of points behind first serve, Konta scored 77% in the same category.

That's the moment Roger Federer has been waiting for. Now to hold serve, which is most important after a break.

  17. Federer breaks backpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Harris 6-3 1-3 Federer*

Lloyd Harris saved two of the three break points and is at the net with a forehand trying to save the third.

But the arm is a bit too loose, there's a bit too much power on it and, after Hawk-Eye checks it, it is out and Federer grabs a break in game four of set two.

  18. Two set points Kontapublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

Much better from Federer in that hold to love. But he still looks forlorn out there. Head down, playing with the strings of his racquet. Like he is lost in his own miserable thoughts.
