Oliver Schraylor: We’re only 15 minutes in, never underestimate or rule out Roger Federer.

Andrew Neill: Federer suffering the after-effects of a tough clay court season already?

    *Harris 5-3 Federer

And now Lloyd Harris is one game away from taking the first set from Roger Federer. This could be the best way to introduce yourself at a Grand Slam since, er, probably, yesterday when Cori Gauff beat Venus Williams.

You’ll have to trust me on this but it’s definitely Kate.

She’s got sunglasses on her head and there’s a man with an earpiece.

    Bogdan 3-3 *Konta

You need to draw the venom from the Ana Bogdan serve before you can get into the point.

Johanna Konta pings a winner down the line and out of the reach of the Romanian's waggling racquet to bring up 40-15.

But Konta comes off second best in a fiddly little exchange of drop shots at the front of the court and that is the game gone.

    Meanwhile in the posh seats...

    "Wow."

That's all one woman behind the press seats can muster as Lloyd Harris breaks.

And that succinctly sums up the mood on Centre.

Mysteron: Only two days in, but Court No.1 is *already* looking decidedly shabby...

I wondered if it was just me. Yeah, the baseline is churning up like late eighties Plough Lane.

Philip West: This is deeply unconvincing stuff from Federer. I’ve rarely seen him looking so edgy on Centre Court.

Ian Evans: Federer is looking old.

    *Harris 4-2 Federer

Could this be the shock of the men's tournament? Lloyd Harris, a 22-year-old South African in his first ever match at Wimbledon, is 4-2 up against living legend Roger Federer. BBC One to watch along.

    *Bogdan 2-3 Konta

Johanna Konta is off and running into a 40-0 lead.

The Briton drops to her haunches to hit a baseline backhand though and only finds the top of the net.

She has built enough of a cushion to just go for straight winners.

And she picks the lock with a slapped cross-court forehand on the next point.

    *Harris 2-2 Federer

    Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

Lloyd Harris is another player who's done it the hard way coming through the challenges. He'll enjoy this occasion I think. A lot of players will be rooting for him in the locker room.

  12. 'We won't see too many breaks'published at 15:02 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Martina Navratilova
Nine-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

Ana Bogdan has a nice serve - she's been hitting 110mph first serves. And her second serve looks a little tricky to play too.

I don't think we'll see too many breaks of serve in this match as Bogdan and Johanna Konta have great first serves and second serves.

  13. Postpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Bogdan 2-2 *Konta

Ana Bogdan slaps down those serves with a righteous fury.

The Romanian keeps Konta at bay.

    Serve on top still.

No messing about on the outside courts for Lloyd Harris. It's straight on to Centre Court against Roger Federer for his Wimbledon debut and 12 minutes in and he has held his serve twice.

    Don't worry Sonia. I've got a view.

Kate Middleton - Duchess of Cambridge to her friends - parks the big sunnies on her forehand and applauds politely as Johanna Konta holds to 15.

    Martina Navratilova
Nine-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

Johanna Konta has really improved her variety of shots in the past few years. She used to be more of a power hitter but she can manoeuvre it around the court a little better now.

  19. Bogdan holdspublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

    Bogdan 1-1 *Konta

There is a lot going on out there on Court One.

Both players are mixing up power with heavy spin and slice. Court One's surface is looking a little greasy.

The pre-tournament conditions have not been like they were in the hazy, crazy summer of 2018.

    Katie Falkingham
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

The Duchess of Cambridge has had enough of the Centre Court action. She's departed the Royal Box, where she was sat with outgoing Wimbledon chairman Philip Brook and his wife.

I presume HRH is headed for Court One, where Johanna Konta will be playing imminently. I wonder if JoKo knows royalty will be watching? I imagine it's daunting enough during practice, but in a match? I think I'd rather not know.
