    Muguruza v Haddad Maia

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Anyway... back to the tennis. Wimbledon is a tournament which Spain's Garbine Muguruza loves, unsurprising seeing as she has lifted the bling on Centre Court.

"Once you hold the trophy you want to hold it again. We all have pressure, but I have the trophy so it helps my confidence to believe I can do it again," the 2017 champion said. "Wimbledon is a very special tournament, I would say it is the most elegant and the most historical so it is fun.

"I love London and I have been discovering more and more over the years, Wimbledon is a little far out so it is hard to find the right day to go into the city. But I am trying to discover new places - museums, bars, parks - I love it.

"My favourite place? One afternoon I remember walking next to the River Thames, it was calm and a lot of people, it was beautiful."

It's a very first match on grass for Lloyd Harris and what a place to start; on Centre Court at Wimbledon against the best of all time.

    Harris 1-0 Federer*

Lloyd Harris is a 22-year-old South African who is playing in his first match at Wimbledon - and it's straight on to Centre Court to face eight-time champion Roger Federer. What a way to make your SW19 debut.

Harris is not showing any immediate signs of nerves as he holds on to his serve first up.

    *Bogdan 0-1 Konta

    Pock! Pock! Plimp!

Johanna Konta wraps up the first game with a big serve followed up with a dinky forehand dropper.

Ana Bogdan, rocked back on her heels by Konta's exocet first serve, is not even in shot as it taps down twice to claim the game.

Precisely none of you are asking if Ana Bogdan is any relation to former Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan. She isn't.

    Boris Becker
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

We need to appreciate Roger Federer while we can. I rate him as one of the top three favourites for the tournament.

They don't make them like this anymore. He's unique and he always will be.

    Muguruza v Haddad Maia

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

For a woman who has graced the pages of Vogue and Glamour magazines, it won't surprise you to learn Garbine Muguruza is very stylish.

The 2017 champion was looking as elegant as usual at Friday's Dubai Duty Free WTA Summer Party in Knightsbridge, although she told BBC Sport's Betty Glover that there was a flaw in her dress - no pockets.

I can't say I have that problem - plenty of room in my skinny jeans for wallet, keys and chewing gum. I butted out of this convo.

  7. 'You have to enjoy every minute'published at 14:48 British Summer Time 2 July 2019

World number one Ashleigh Barty on BBC Two after beating Saisai Zheng: "The first round is always tough and it took a bit of time to get used to conditions on that beautiful court which I have a lot of happy memories on. It took some time to adjust but I got there in the end."

On playing Wimbledon as world number one: "It feels incredible. It feels a bit bizarre actually but I'm try to go about my business in the same way as I always have done. You have to enjoy every minute when you're playing at this beautiful tournament."

On facing Alison Van Uytvanck in round two: "It will be an exceptional challenge. She's got a big game so I have to be ready for that. I've got to return well and make sure my own game is nice and tight."

The Fed Heads are out in force.

This is Scarlett Li from Toronto, who asked Roger to sign a photograph of the pair of them together when he came off the practice courts earlier.

"I took this picture in Montreal in 2017 when I gave him a present on behalf of the #UnitedbyRog - an international fans group - when everyone sent a short message to him and to wish him good luck.

He recognised us because we support him all over the world, and we saw him in Paris a few weeks ago.

Scarlett is here with Martine Lessire from Belgium - the pair met by chatting on a fans forum on Federer's official website.

"We are the regulars!" laughs Martine.

Scarlett says she can't remember how exactly many autographs she has... "A lot," she says.

"If I don't have anything to sign he will just smile and leave. But when he stops to sign we can say good luck."

Are you on Centre? "Of course! We queued for three nights..."
