Tough work for Hsieh to try and break the Pliskova serve. She's only lost four points on her first serve, that puts a lot of pressure on Hsieh to hold.

Grease up and watch yourself cook.

Court Two, where 10th seed Karen Khachanov is currently trailing Roberto Bautista Agut, is the perfect place to get a tennis tan.

More fans are being wafted here than at a flamenco fair in Bautista Agut's native Spain.

    *Pliskova 6-3 0-1 Hsieh

Hsieh thinks she's moved up to 40-0 with a whipping backhand but loses the challenge by a good inch.

But she holds comfortably when Pliskova's return falls into the cords.

There's a lot of power coming off the Pliskova racquet.

Hsieh's doing well just to get the ball back in play, but she's making some costly mistakes.

The sliced volley is there to be taken but it slumps into the net and Hsieh moves up to 30-15. Pliskova responds with a rasping serve out wide but Hsieh's slice droops into the cords.

Pliskova wraps up the set with another ace.

Hsieh's second unforced error of the first set could not have come at a worse time.

It depends who is doing that stats but, for me, she was on balance enough that she should have managed to get that back. It's a grey area.

Matches don't come much bigger than the one Harriet Dart is playing on Saturday when the 22-year-old Briton takes on world number one Ashleigh Barty.

Dart was at the practice courts this morning, doing some fitness drills in the players' outdoor gym area, before going for a hit.

Her opponent Barty was there an hour earlier, walloping some balls on the court next to Roger Federer before taking a break to use her racquet as a golf putter. We knew she played cricket too, but who knew about the golf?!

    Pliskova 4-3 Hsieh*

Impressive serving from Pliskova. She's up to 40-15 with her sixth ace of the match but has to wait for a few moments when a bird is dithering about on court.

After a giggle from the crowd and the umpire, Pliskova serves wide and slams an overhead into the opposite corner to hold.

    She's flying (excuse the pun!)

  15. Game and first set Bautista Agutpublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    Khachanov 3-6 1-0 Bautista Agut*

Spanish 23rd seed Roberto Bautista Agut broke 10th seed Karen Khachanov's serve early on in the first set and never looked back.

The 31-year-old is now a set up on Court Two. The winner of this one will play either Benoit Paire or Jiri Vesely.

  16. Hsieh holdspublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    *Pliskova 3-3 Hsieh

Lots of great tennis being played here!

Pliskova is attacking the second serve but Hsieh mixes it up to keep her guessing. A wonderful rally breaks out but Pliskova comes out on top with a stretched volley at the net.

Hsieh then holds with a one-two punch down the line.

Could we see another top 10 seed heading back to Heathrow tomorrow?

    Quite possibly.

Russian 10th seed Karen Khachanov has just lost the first set to Spain’s 23rd seed Roberto Bautista Agut - the man, you will remember, who we feared may have brought Andy Murray’s career to an end in Melbourne.

    Pliskova 3-2 Hsieh*

Pliskova slams her fourth ace before Hsieh volleys into the open court. The Czech keeps her nerve to dispatch two overheads and holds with a fizzing forehand winner into the corner.

  19. Hsieh holdspublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    *Pliskova 2-2 Hsieh

A roar of "ooh" is let out by the crowd as Hsieh unleashes a ridiculous slice to move up to 30-15. Pliskova gobbles up the next serve and then thumps a backhand winner down the line!

Hsieh adds a bit of variety and wins the next point before a cross-court backhand gives her the hold.

What a match, the ups and downs!

Sakkari at her best was winning, but when not at her best Svitolina remained consistent. She's so thrilled to get through.
