    Tsonga 2-6 3-5 Nadal*

Nadal goes full Roberto Carlos '97 Tournoi and bends a forehand shot around the reach of Tsonga so that it lands just inside the baseline.

The Spaniard has two set points but both are saved.

Tsonga finally holds which means the number three seed will have to serve out for the set.

  2. Stephens holdspublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 3-3 *Konta

Sloane Stephens game is as tidy as a hospital corners on a squaddie's bunk bed.

She breezes to a service hold to 15. The American has made seven unforced errors. Konta has leaked 22.

    *Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 2-5 Mektic/Skugor

Another huge serve from Andy Murray and Nikola Mektic lashes it long.

Deuce. Back in the game. But only for a second, Murray can't pick up Franko Skugor's delicate return and it's a third set point for the Croatians.

    *Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 2-5 Mektic/Skugor

A big serve and a big save just when Andy Murray needed it most.

One more set point to go.

    *Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 2-5 Mektic/Skugor

What a return from Nikola Mektic, absolute rasper of a forehand.

    Two set points.

Stephen Taylor: Murray and Herbert looking very much like a new pairing who haven't played much together. Very much second best at the moment.

    *Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 2-5 Mektic/Skugor

Oh no, Murray is furious at himself. A simple chance at the net but he manages to hit the tape from almost on top of it - 0-30.

    *Tsonga 2-6 2-5 Nadal

Nadal is at peak Nadal - probably the best of the men at the tournament so far. Almost as good as Coco Gauff.

However, a stunning forehand winner is followed by a double-handed backhand error.

Nadal shakes his head as if he's realised he's forgotten to buy the condensed milk for the pudding he was going to make.

We move to 30s each of the Tsonga serve.

  9. 'Konta hanging on'published at 15:42 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    *Stephens 6-3 2-3 Konta

    Andrew Cotter
    BBC Sport commentator at Wimbledon

Johanna Konta hangs on with her finger nails to remain in this second set.

We knew it would be a big step up for Konta from her opening two matches.

She continues to look up at her box, which is never a good sign, but perhaps she just needs to vent a little bit.

Sloane Stephens certainly looks the more composed of the two players, but with Konta we know emotions are never too far from the surface.

  10. Konta holdspublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    *Stephens 6-3 2-3 Konta

Johanna Konta survives. But she was put through the wringer in that last game.

Is the pressure building cumulatively? Or can Konta swing the momentum of the match?

    *Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 2-5 Mektic/Skugor

Deuce. A sniff of a break-back chance for Murray and Herbert... quickly extinguished by a thumping Skugor serve and nonchalant Mektic volley. Murray questions whether the Croatian hit that on the wrong side of the net? The umpire barely blinks. A big hold.

    Stephens 6-3 2-2 *Konta

You could cut the atmosphere with a knife there's so much tension out here right now.

  13. Postpublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 2-2 *Konta

Johanna Konta has squandered two game points.

She is back to deuce. Getting out of this game is like escaping quicksand. Ten minutes on the clock for this game.

  14. Nadal breaks once morepublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Tsonga 2-6 2-4 Nadal*

Tsonga produces an awful backhand pick-up which is wayyyyy too long.

    Second break point.

Nadal is gifted it with a double fault.

The crowd are bemused, but this isn't the Tsonga of 2012.

    Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 2-4 Mektic/Skugor*

Pierre-Hugues Herbert has a unique serving stance - it almost looks like he's preparing to fizz a ball down a bowling alley the way he squats into it, rather than deliver an overhead serve.

No bother, a hold to love. Strike!

  16. Postpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 2-2 *Konta

Another misfire, and now Konta's frustration becomes fury.

  17. Konta saves third break point, deucepublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 2-2 *Konta

Johanna Konta shrugs up to her coaching box, exasperated as she hits long to offer up a third break point of the game...

Sloane Stephens misses her mark as she looks down the line with the forehand following Konta's kick serve.

  18. 'There are no limits to what Coco can achieve'published at 15:35 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Katie Shanahan
    BBC Radio London

I just bumped into Coco Gauff's trainer/hitting partner, Courtney Scott, and here's what he had to say on the star of the moment.

"I’m speechless. She’s really such a wonderful person so to see all of her dreams come true day by day, match by match, point by point is amazing and I am so happy for her.

"After Venus, it was just clear to see the joy on her face – it was priceless. She inspires me every day, she’s like my little superhero. She works tremendously hard and it’s really nice to see that hard work pay off.

"She was ecstatic when Jaden Smith – Will Smith’s son – gave her a shoutout via Twitter, and she was also jumping up and down with excitement when Michelle Obama gave her a shoutout, she was super stoked.

"We all believe in her, that she can take this game to the highest level. I believe in Coco and there are no limits to what she can achieve."

    *Tsonga 2-6 2-3 Nadal

Tsonga mutters to himself again as he goes wide with a forehand.

    15-30.

    30-30.

He then goes wider with another forehand.

Break point but it's saved as Nadal's pouncey forehand hits the top of the net.

    Stephens 6-3 2-2 *Konta

Johanna's body language is starting to get a little bit negative and you can see she's chatting back to her box which we haven't seen all tournament.
