This is too easy for the Spaniard.

    *Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-5 Mektic/Skugor

Speedy recovery from Herbert and Murray to win three successive points before Skugor fizzes a wrist-rattling return on to Herbert's strings for deuce.

    Uh oh. Set point.

  8. Game and first set Stephenspublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 0-0 *Konta

Sloane Stephens hangs in the rallies so well.

Just when it seems that Johanna Konta has her on the run, the American will slice back a backhand down the middle and reset.

Johanna Konta is coughing up a few too many errors and her attempt to tickle into the front court is snared on the top of the net.

First set conceded in her Wimbledon 2019 campaign.

    *Tsonga 2-5 Nadal

Nadal appears to have speeded up the time he's taking to serve compared to what we saw in his match against Nick Krygios.

He holds with an emphatic forehand smash.

So far so routine for Nadal.

Meanwhile, over in radioland, there has been a surprising revelation from BBC tennis correspondent Russell Fuller - who recalled the time he went for a barbecue at burly actor Brian Blessed's house.

"Years ago when I was a very junior member of the Woking Youth Theatre...his wife was directing a production of Chekov's Three Sisters, and we went over for a barbecue," he tells BBC Radio 5 live.

Russell claims he wasn't one of the sisters. You can listen to live radio coverage here or by clicking on the link at the top of the page.

Sloane Stephens is rolling like Fred Durst, external in the late 90s at 40-0.

But her comes a speed bump in the form of Johanna Konta' winning forehand rip. Those don't come back.

And then the American duffs long. Just. Perhaps. Stephens was tempted to challenge. It was certainly close.

Instead she just backs herself to get the job done in the next point. And she does as Konta goes long. New balls.
