  1. Konta saves two break points, deucepublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 2-2 *Konta

A big first serve saves one break point.

Then we are into a rally. Konta breaks up Stephens rhythm with a looping deep forehand, amid all the pan-flat trajectories. It does the trick and she keeps her head to thump away a knee-knocker of a smash volley.

Not out the woods yet though. Deuce,

    *Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 1-4 Mektic/Skugor

Andy Murray's laser-like gaze could pierce a hole in the umpire's chair, you'd fancy. He's not happy... he and Herbert remain a break down in the third set.

  3. Stephens with two break pointspublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 2-2 *Konta

Johanna Konta is backed up to 15-40. Two break points to Stephens. She needs another epic salvage operation...

  4. Mektic & Skugor breakpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 1-3 Mektic/Skugor*

Grass stains on the Wimbledon whites for Andy Murray! The Scot goes diving/tumbling across court in a bid to reach a Nikola Mektic return but can only stick a frame on it.

    Two break points.

The Croatians need just one, as Skugor dips a groundstroke over the net and Murray picks it up but it flops wide...

Mektic gets ready to serve, but now Murray is arguing away with the umpire - he wants to challenge, he does and it's out... he's still arguing. Phew.

Another good service game and another great hold for Sloane Stephens.

    *Tsonga 2-6 2-3 Nadal

After Tsonga wins the first point Nadal takes control of his service game - at one stage the 6ft 2in Frenchman looked like he was about to produce a forehand shot with a towel held by a ball girl.

Alas, he didn't and alas Nadal holds.

  7. Stephens holdspublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 2-2 *Konta

Sloane Stephens might as well be playing in a bowler hat and pinstripe.

She knocks off another service game in such business-like fashion, holding to 15, that the Court One crowd seemed lulled into a mid-afternoon carb slump.

    *Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 1-2 Mektic/Skugor

Skugor and Mektic are looking threatening in this third set. Again they edge to 0-30, before Skugor lashes a return long from a leaping Murray second serve... that one looked there for the taking.

    *Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 1-2 Mektic/Skugor

Arms wide open, shrugging like a teenager who hasn't tidied his room, Andy Murray can't quite believe that kissed the chalk. He challenged and was beaten up by Hawk-Eye.

Mektic and Skugor hold. You feel the crowd on court two are starting to get a tad restless, a fair few sneak out for toilet/refreshment breaks between the change of ends... this one could last a while.

The stats don't lie. Konta's accuracy and performance way behind. She needs to improve her ground strokes dramatically, or this will be over in 30 mins or so.

  12. Konta holdspublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    *Stephens 6-3 1-2 Konta

Johanna Konta drags the game back to the changeover chair. That was a struggle.

Sloane Stephens did some inadvertent splits behind the baseline during the final rally. Will that impede her progress?

    *Tsonga 2-6 1-2 Nadal

Tsonga, who has a settler of service game with two aces, tries his best to attack the Nadal serve but when he manages to get his racquet on the ball his returns are drifting wide or long.

The French 34-year-old is seen off with an ace.

He sits back on his chair and chomps on a banana.

Perhaps contemplating Sir Mo Farah's fashion statement. Perhaps not.

    Stephens 6-3 1-1 *Konta

Here comes a first break point of the game as Konta goes wide.

Oh! Konta survives by the skin of her teeth. Stephens' forehand tip-toes along the net cord before dropping back on the American's side of the court...

  15. Herbert holdspublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Murray/Herbert 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 1-1 Mektic/Skugor*

"Great serve!" says Andy Murray, as Pierre-Hugues Herbert rips one down to make it 40-30 and then completes four successive points for an important hold.

  16. Konta taken to deucepublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 1-1 *Konta

Johanna Konta seemed in control of the service game, but she has been dragged down deuce-ville as she cuffs marginally long over the baseline.

Penny for your thoughts, Andy? Murray's partner Herbert goes 0-30 down on serve for a fourth time and is wobbling a bit.

That's just amazing. Stephens is on fire at the moment.

The first signs of emotion from Konta, she just got a bit irritated with herself there.

  19. Stephens holdspublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Stephens 6-3 1-1 *Konta

A drilled forehand down the line.

A lasered winner across court off the same wing.

    A mammoth serve winner.

Sloane Stephens is packing away this game with pure fire.

Johanna Konta twinges a backhand into the top of the net and tuts at herself with irritation. She is trying to hold back the tide at the moment.
