What should the collective noun be for Wimbledon's ball boys and girls?

Here they are reporting for duty this morning ahead of a busy day's action at SW19.

Around 250 work during the fortnight and have been through a selection process and training which started in February.

The average age is 15 years old and they normally work one hour on, one hour off.

There are four teams of six who are used on Centre and Number One Courts, six teams of six rotate around the other show courts.

And the remainder in teams of six rotate around the rest of the courts.

  2. Murray on Serena and the crechepublished at 10:27 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Murray & Williams v Guarachi & Mies

A graphic saying: Andy Murray BBC Sport columnist

In his column, Andy Murray talks about his new mixed doubles partner Serena Williams, what he admires most about the American great and their chat about the Wimbledon creche.

Playing mixed doubles with Serena is something that hadn't been on my mind until this opportunity came up.

I don't know her that well and we haven't played together before or spent much time hanging out - so let's see what happens!

But I think we do a lot of things quite similarly on court that should bode well for us as a partnership.

Both of us play predominantly from the baseline and we are both good movers and athletes. And she serves unbelievably well.

  3. When will we see 'Ser-Andy'?published at 10:23 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

The tantalising partnership between two of the sport's most high-profile stars has been one of the main talking points at Wimbledon since it was first mooted last week and then finally confirmed on Tuesday.

Anticipation was bubbling around the grounds all day on Friday - particularly on Centre Court, where many ticket holders felt confident they were going to see Murray and Williams in tandem.

That was despite the match not being assigned to a court, and not to be played before 17:30, as Wimbledon organisers waited until the picture became clearer on Centre and Court One before deciding where to stage it.

However, the scheduling of two shorter women's matches - Simona Halep's win against Victoria Azarenka and Gauff facing Slovenian Hercog - as second and third on Centre suggested the All England Club was hoping to showcase the blockbuster pairing on its 15,000-seater main arena.

That is how it looked to be playing out with Coco Gauff trailing by a set and a break at 18:40, before she fought off two match points to take the match into a decider.

So it meant the only people to see Murray and Williams in action on Friday were a small handful of family - including Murray's mum Judy, friends and journalists - when they practised for the first time earlier that afternoon.

You better believe it... Coco Gauff's comeback may be the reason Friday's fans didn't get to see Andy Murray and Serena Williams in action, but they did witness a simply stunning recovery from the 15-year-old as she fought back from facing match point to win in three sets against Polona Hercog on Centre Court. Check out the highlights from that one.

  5. Happy birthday!published at 10:15 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

Before the gates opened this morning, all the ballboys and girls filed into Centre Court for a photo opportunity and a talk from Wimbledon chief executive Richard Lewis among others.

But one of the youngsters is celebrating their birthday today! They were made to stand up as everyone sang Happy Birthday - what a place to celebrate turning another year older.

  6. Also on Saturday...published at 10:11 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

Second up on Centre Court, Spain's Rafael Nadal meets two-time quarter-finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France, before Swiss eight-time champion Roger Federer takes on another Frenchman, Lucas Pouille.

Another legend, 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams, is first on Court One as she plays Germany's Julia Gorges.

The American is also scheduled to play in the mixed doubles alongside Britain's Andy Murray, but the 32-year-old Scot needs to find time to complete his second-round men's doubles match, alongside France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert, sometime after 13:00 BST on court two.

They meet Croatian sixth seeds Nikola Mektic and Franko Skuger following the conclusion of Czech two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova's singles match against Magda Linette of Poland.

    Still with us? Good...

Johanna Konta, Dan Evans and Harriet Dart have the responsibility of keeping British hopes alive in the Wimbledon singles when they play on day six.

British number one Konta, 28, faces American ninth seed Sloane Stephens in a rematch of their French Open quarter-final, which Konta impressively won.

Evans, 29, continues his SW19 renaissance against Portugal's Joao Sousa straight after on Court One.

Dart, 22, opens on Centre Court against Australian top seed Ashleigh Barty.
