Novak has not been shy of a ear-cupping and shushing the Wimbledon crowd if he feels he is not getting his due credit...

    *Djokovic 2-3 Federer

Oh hello. Novak slammed the door on long-time neighbour Roger and has now sprinted round to his gaff to sneak in through the porch before he gets through.

Djokovic moves 0-30 ahead, only for Federer to find his first serve in the plant pot and avert the grab.

  4. 'Roger is hitting the ball better'published at 14:31 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Djokovic 2-2 *Federer

    Marion Bartoli
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

So far it is Roger Federer who is hitting the ball better in this final. Novak Djokovic looks to be really feeling the pressure...

Roger has a look to his box at the end there because I think he really had the game on his racquet there when he went wide with a cross-court forehand on break point.

    You shall not pass.

That’s what I’m imagining these security guards are saying to the many, many fans trying to get onto Henman Hill.

But, just as was the case for Friday’s semi-final between Roger and Rafa, a cordon has been put in place because of overcrowding.

Paul Staveley: Novak has won 9 of his last 11 Grand Slam finals. Once he’s locked in mentally it’s near impossible to beat him. I’m team Fed all the way but I can’t see Novak losing this.

Jiten Chandarana: Good for Roger he is serving first. If it gets to 4-5, 5-6, a mistake here or there from Novak and the crowd could sense something. Very fine margins on grass at times.

First serve wide.. second landed... baseline tussle.

Federer makes an unforced error on the forehand.. chance gone. Djokovic celebrates with an icy stare and clenched fist to his box.

A fourth deuce, a ninth minute... and then Djokovic unhooks himself.

    As you were.

Deja vu. Djokovic regains advantage, only for Federer to bring it back to deuce with another forehand winner down the line.

And then.. Novak goes long. Break point Federer...

Djokovic lands a first serve to alleviate the pressure and then another... he moves into the net and is caught in no man's land.

Federer passes him with a winner and it is back to deuce...

  10. Chance for Federer?published at 14:24 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    *Djokovic 1-2 Federer

Novak regains control as another aggressive Federer attack fails to hit its target... 40-15.

Wait... Djokovic can't make a backhand down the line and Federer responds with a forehand winner straight back where it came from. 40-30...

Djokovic overcooks a return and suddenly it is 40-40...

  11. 'No easing in'published at 14:22 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    *Djokovic 1-2 Federer

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV at Wimbledon

What's amazing already in this match is that there's no easing in. They both hit the ground running.

Federer only needs three sets. These baseline exchanges over a long period of time, I feel, will be in favour of Djokovic.

Djokovic's engine stalls. A double fault puts Federer 0-15 ahead. The Serb's serve is straying more than mine on Wimbledon Park this morning.

Second serve in, long exchange, Roger rips a backhand winner... is it a winner? The line judge says no.

Roger wants to check. Hawk-Eye says no. 15-15...

'This could be a long afternoon for Federer' - Djokovic hits forehand winner down the line

Talking of winners, a crisp forehand from Djokovic gets the crowd murmuring.

    0-15.

Not for long. Federer finds his first serve, battling back to lead 40-15 before a rogue forehand into the tramlines gives Djokovic half a sniff.

Don't worry Fed Heads. All under control.

The Swiss holds. Not a start which has disappointed...

  14. 'Contrasting styles'published at 14:17 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Djokovic 1-1 *Federer

    Marion Bartoli
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

You can already see contrasting styles.

Novak is trying to work his way from the back of the court, getting into rallies, while Roger Federer is trying to rip winners from everywhere.

I don't think it is because he is worried about the long rallies - he did well in them against Rafa Nadal - but I think he is trying to impose himself on Novak and plant some seeds in his mind.

Djokovic is locked in from the start too. With the precision of a compass, he responds with a hold to love. Federer bats a forehand into the net on the final point. All square.

    Djokovic 0-1 Federer

    Marion Bartoli

Focus and intensity is crucial in the early moments. Both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are such good frontrunners that you don't want to lose any early ground.

  17. Rapid start from Federerpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    *Djokovic 0-1 Federer

    Ufff. Marker laid.

Like he did against Nadal, Federer starts with an ace. Centre chuckles.

Another ace and a forehand winner down the deuce side seals a hold to 15.

    Solid. Over to the Serb...

It's the picture-painting creative versus the metronomic machine.

It's Pablo Picasso versus Albert Einstein.

    It's Federer versus Djokovic.

When they posed for photos at the net, Djokovic had his arm high up on Federer’s shoulder, while Federer’s was round his opponent’s waist.

A body language expert might say there was an early message from the Serb there.
