Osaka 6-4 5-5 Blinkova*
Oh dear. Osaka double-faults to fall 30-0 down and then misses the first serve. She smacks the ball back into the net in frustration.
Two set points follow but the world number one recovers to take it to deuce. Blinkova gets another one but her backhand return drops long.
Osaka then pulls it out the bag to hold. She's hanging in here and delivering on the big points!

Osaka wants this player to go away, and shes not going away.

One thing you can say about Osaka in this match is she hasn't backed off, she's kept swinging.
She seems to believe even when she's made some mistakes, she keeps believing in her game. That's a good way to work through tough matches and tough moments like this.
*Edmund 6-3 1-0 Andujar
Andujar goes wide - he looks spent and he's only played 10 games.
Edmund 6-3 0-0 Andujar*
Edmund has a triple break-point!!!
Edmund 6-3 0-0 Andujar*
Andujar serves a double fault to open up the second set - he needs some sort of divine intervention here.
Make that 0-30.
Edmund 6-3 Andujar*
"Set point! That's what's going on!"
Edmund takes his first chance - fist pump follows.

Not heard too many British voices and then... they burst into song when a spinning, teeth-bearing Edmund celebrates that break of serve.
“Let’s go Kyle, LET’S GO!”
Let’s see if he can go over the line and hold...
*Edmund 5-3 Andujar
Hmmm.
It was 30-0 but errors sees Andujar draw level.
What's going on Kyle? Tell us.
Osaka 6-4 4-4 Blinkova*
Osaka comes through another unconvincing service game but she's getting better. We're getting to the business end of the set now...
*Edmund 5-3 Andujar
Edmund fails to take the first but then presses the 'B' button to reach max on the Power Bar and fire home a great forehand winner.
Now to serve out.
Edmund 4-3 Andujar*
Oh Pablo!
Another unforced error, this time on the forehand, brings up another two break points for Edmo.
Edmund 4-3 Andujar*
Interesting.
Edmund delivers a great backhand passing shot past the reach of Andujar.
0-30.
15-30.
Edmund 4-3 Andujar*
The British numero uno holds as Andujar once again goes long.
Edmund walks back to his chair where he's placed a big plastic tube on his lap which appears to be blowing air into his face.
Whatever makes him happy really.
*Osaka 6-4 3-4 Blinkova

Look at where both these players are in their careers, what they've accomplished so far, just one year roughly separating them in the age, but Osaka, champion here last year, Blinkova is going for her first main draw win here in New York.
Blinkova has been impressive though. She hasn't gone away, she's kept competing, forcing Osaka to come up with the goods, and this match still has a lot left in it.
*Osaka 6-4 3-4 Blinkova
Osaka brings up a break point but can't capitalise. She takes Blinkova to deuce another three times but the Russian clings on.
Frustrations are growing for the Japanese now. She slumps to the court after missing a forehand return and stands with her legs outstretched as Blinkova holds.
*Edmund 3-3 Andujar
Now it's Andujar's turn to convert a rush to the net into a point.
15-30 before the Spaniard goes long.
Another hold or is the world number 70 about to twist?

A few familiar faces watching Kyle Edmund on a rather sparse court 13.
British Davis Cup captain Leon Smith is observing from the sideline and, more interestingly, so is Edmund’s former coach Fidde Rosengren.
The Swede retired earlier this year but, hunched forward with his hand on his chin, is sat behind the baseline, looking as engrossed as he would have been when sat in Edmund’s box.
*Edmund 3-3 Andujar
Could you spot Edmo's head from space? That cap really is a very bright luminescent yellow.
Andujar, not dazzled, holds.
Threes each.
