  4. Hurkacz 'super proud' with winpublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    Federer 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 0-6 Hurkacz

Some quotes from Hubert Hurkacz, who has just knocked out Roger Federer: "It's super special for me playing on this special court against Roger, it's a dream come true.

"I'm super-proud and super-happy to be here. I cannot wait for the next one."

Asked if he believed he could win, he replied: "Probably not, the special things he has done here throughout his whole career."

  5. Berrettini holdspublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    Berrettini 6-3 5-7 1-0 Auger-Aliassime*

The other match I covered today between Shapovalov and Khachanov went the distance, and this one feels like it could very well do the same.

Berrettini gets things started in the third set with a hold to love.

    Berrettini 6-3 5-7 Auger-Aliassime

A very good start by Auger-Aliassime, as he rips a forehand winner to edge closer to the set.

Berrettini hits into the tramlines, and an ace makes it 40-0.

Three set points - but he only needs the one!

Another ace seals the second set. We're back level on Court One.

    *Berrettini 6-3 5-5 Auger-Aliassime

Auger-Aliassime can only smile to himself as Berrettini delivers a rocket of a second serve to save the first break point, and then another huge hit takes the game to deuce.

The game swings from break point to game point, but Berrettini misses.

  11. Game, set and match - Chardy/Broadypublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    Chardy/Broady 6-3 7-5 Kaasen/Jurak

Naomi Broady and French partner Jeremy Chardy are through to the last eight of the mixed doubles after a comfortable win over South African Raven Klaasen and Croatia's Darija Jurak.

Broady and Chardy could face British pair Harriet Dart and Joe Salisbury if they are able to overcome Austrian Oliver Marach and Lyudmyla Kichenok of Ukraine.

Dart and Salisbury won the first set 6-3 but are 3-1 and break down in the second set.

  12. Legends leaving sadly?published at 18:30 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    Federer 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 0-6 Hurkacz

If this is the end for Roger Federer at Wimbledon, it will be a sad, sad way for two of the best players to ever grace the turf to have exited the tournament.

Serena Williams, a seven-time champion, had to pull out of her first-round match because of injury, and now Federer leaves, handed a 6-0 thumping in his final set.

Both are 39 and it would be a great story to see either or both of them here next year. Will it happen though, who knows?

  13. Break points Auger-Aliassimepublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    *Berrettini 6-3 5-5 Auger-Aliassime

Potentially rather costly mistakes from Matteo Berrettini!

The Italian falters on serve and Auger-Aliassime has two break points.

    Boris Becker
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

The other side of the coin - yeah your opponent didn't have the best of days (to put it mildly) but you still have your job to do and put it out of your head that you are playing Federer the legend.

All credit to him for that.

There are certain rules even Roger Federer has to obey- and it's matches. You don't get that in practice.

You only find out how good you are when you put yourself in that position, and today he wasn't good enough.

  15. Auger-Aliassime holdspublished at 18:26 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

Again, Felix Auger-Aliassime handles the pressure, Berrettini smashing into the net at 40-15 as he fails to trouble the young Canadian's serve.

A hold to love moves Matteo Berrettini within one game of a two-set lead.

The pressure is back on Felix Auger-Aliassime, but he's dealt with several tense moments superbly well so far...

    Boris Becker
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

I noticed the mis-hits, awkward looking points from Roger and obviously the last set of course, 6-0.

He would never ever say if there was a niggle, but I don't know if we will ever see the great man again here.

Che Seabourne: Huge credit to @HubertHurkacz, external for that performance. @rogerfederer, external remains, for me, the tennis GOAT: style of play, manner on and off court, personality and aura. Thank you Roger for everything you have done for tennis. Please stay a bit longer!

  20. Auger-Aliassime holdspublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    Berrettini 6-3 4-4 Auger-Aliassime

Auger-Aliassime bravely saves all three break points - the 20-year-old has saved eight of 12 break points faced so far in this match.

And his impressive efforts are rewarded, as Berrettini fires beyond the baseline and the Canadian makes the hold.
