    This is Evans' first ever competitive match against Murray so technically if he wins he can say he's never been beaten by the former world number one.

    The British number one hits a forehand wide though and now Murray is up a mini-break. 7-7.

    Murray goes for a lob but gives a pained cry as it lands long. 8-7.

    Murray mishits a forehand and it goes long to make it 4-4. He's on the front foot after a nice serve out wide and smashes down a winner. Back on serve at 5-4.

    This is such good tennis. A real treat on a Saturday afternoon. The two players engage in a baseline battle and Murray screams at himself as his forehand lands wide. 4-2.

    Evans whacks an ace down the middle and he's back in this tie-break. 4-3.

    Murray blasts a serve at Evans then showers him with forehands, eventually mixing it up as he comes to the net for a drop-shot. 3-1.

    Evans' forehand goes into the net and Murray remains in control. He may not have the match fitness anymore, but he's still got the mental edge it seems. 4-1.

    Murray's average forehand topspin speed has dropped from 77mph to 71mph between the first and second set. Bit statty but proof maybe that his intensity has dropped.

    It's understandable given how little competitive tennis he's played this year.

    Evans sounds a bit breathless too as he taps a backhand into the net to bring up 15-15.

    Murray came into this looking like he had a point to prove against a player who is currently ranked 101 places above him in the world.

    But the 33-year-old hadn't played for seven months before this tournament began and maybe that is starting to show in this second set.
