    *Evans 1-4 Murray

Murray pins Evans at the back of the court and it works perfectly.

But another double fault brings it back to deuce. Is that three double faults just in this game? Murray's serve was beautiful at the start of this match, but something's gone wrong.

His movement's not bad, though. He comes to the net and drops a wining volley over.

A better serve forces Evans' return long and Murray finally gets his hold.

    Evans 1-3 Murray*

Murray is definitely looking a bit more tired now. He hits another double fault and gives Evans a second break point.

Then the former world number one saves it immediately with a huge serve. 134mph.

    Evans 1-3 Murray*

Murray comes to the net and gently taps a volley to the right, way out of Evans' reach. Break point saved.

    Things just got interesting...

Murray hits the ball long and Evans has his first break point of the match.

    Evans 1-3 Murray*

Evans hits a perfect lob to take it to 15-15.

But Murray regains control by repeatedly firing forehands Evans' way until he makes a mistake, hitting the ball long.

Murray stutters, though, hitting the ball into the net and then a double fault to bring up deuce. The intensity he started with seems to be dropping off now.

  6. Evans holdspublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 27 June 2020

    Evans 1-3 Murray*

Regardless of how many metres he's running per point, this is all surely going very much to plan for the three-time Grand Slam champion.

Although just as I typed that, Murray completely mistimed a backhand to send Evans 40-0 up. Evans then closed the game out with a forehand winner to get himself on the board.

    Wow!

Murray looks great, he's moving really well - the game is pretty much the best it's been all week. He's been pushed into difficult positions and has been made to run for a drop-shot.

Matt Little, Murray's fitness trainer, is on Amazon Prime talking about how he's been tracking the player's movements this week:

"Andy has run 1km further than Dan coming into this match today. Both of them run 13m per point on average across the week.

"Andy has been topping the chart for high-intensity movements this week. He puts a lot of effort into the 13m he runs."

    Got it? No, me either...

    *Evans 0-3 Murray

This hasn't looked like exhibition tennis so far. Both players are taking this seriously and Murray is blowing pretty hard. Could do with a few more aces by the looks of things.

He hits his third of the match to bring up 40-0, and hits another down the middle to seal his third game.

I was thinking Andy looked fresh-faced and less tired when he walked out on court - the lack of a beard does seem to be making a difference!

    Evans 0-2 Murray*

Murray hits a gorgeous backhand passing shot and Evans can only just get his racquet on it, but can't get it back over the net.

    *Evans 0-1 Murray

Evans hits his first ace of the match, but undoes his hard work as a forehand lands wide. Back to deuce.

Murray gets Evans on the run with a baseline rally and the younger player eventually cracks. His backhand is nowhere near in. Another break point for Murray.

    *Evans 0-1 Murray

"Come on!" shouts Evans as Murray's return goes into the net, but then the British number one finds the net too and it's deuce.

A forehand long and Murray has break point.

Evans brings Murray up to the net and coolly taps a forehand past him. Break point saved.

    *Evans 0-1 Murray

This is just an exhibition, but this match is a lot more intense than Murray's opener against Liam Broady earlier in the week. Both players might have something to prove here.

Murray fires a forehand into the bottom-right corner to go 30-0 up and is rewarded with a "great tennis", from coach Jamie Delgado.

Evans lands a forehand of his own on the line to get into the game, then comes to the net to bring up 30-30.

  15. Murray holds servepublished at 13:17 British Summer Time 27 June 2020

    *Evans 0-1 Murray

Murray kicks things off with a 131mph ace down the middle. And he thinks Evans is the favourite...?

He releases another fireball of a serve but Evans gets this one back and after a lengthy rally Murray hits a forehand into the net.

One more ace and a couple of carefully constructed points later and Murray opens with an easy hold.

And we're off. Evans won the toss and decided Murray should serve first.

Evans plays with a lot of variety, he has a beautiful backhand slice and likes to come up to the net. But variation doesn't have as much of an impact on Andy Murray. As much as that is one of Evans' biggest strengths I think it's going to come down to the basics and hitting well from the back of the court.

I'm expecting this to be really quite competitive.

The stiffness is going to be there for Murray regardless of whether he had a rest day or not, but his muscles won't get as drained as quickly after a rest day.
