The British number one is a break to the good and is yet to be troubled on his own serve, edging to a love hold after the American hooks a forehand into the tramlines.

The conditions so far today are helping Dan Evans. He played early in the day in his first round and in the middle of the heat and humidity. He toughed it out.

Dan still doesn't feel 100% after having Covid and hope it is something he can recover from quickly.

It is already looking a lot better today. He is very clear in how he wants to play.
