A really good set from Dan Evans Serving at 80% of first serves in, which is a good level. Getting quick free points on his serve is making a difference. It feels like he is not under any pressure.

He's coming to the net nicely and keeping unforced errors low. It is a calmer Dan Evans than we saw in round one.

    What's happening on the show-courts?

The action on Ashe has just got under way - and 2015 semi-finalist Simona Halep is already a break up against Slovakia's Kristina Kucova.

Romanian 12th seed Halep has barely played in recent months because of the calf injury which forced her to miss the French Open and Wimbledon, followed by a thigh injury during the North American hard-court swing.

On Armstrong, Spanish ninth seed Garbine Muguruza is motoring towards the third round.

The two-time Grand Slam champion leads 6-4 3-1 against Germany's Andrea Petkovic.

The conditions so far today are helping Dan Evans. He played early in the day in his first round and in the middle of the heat and humidity. He toughed it out.

Dan still doesn't feel 100% after having Covid and hope it is something he can recover from quickly.

It is already looking a lot better today. He is very clear in how he wants to play.
