    Britain's Heather Watson was in tears after making it through to the second round: "It's a relief to get over the line. What an atmosphere today. I felt like I really fed off the energy.

    "I believed in myself. I had a bit of a disaster match last year on this court, losing with match point so I really wanted to turn it around and get a win this year. I'm just so happy."

    Asked by the BBC's Rishi Persad to describe what it means to her, she said: "These are the moments you dream of as a little girl. I don't know why I'm getting emotional. I think I've had a couple of really rough years, like so many people have. This means a lot."

    However, a mishit return on Draper's second serve and a long forehand allows the Briton to hold.

    At times Nadal looks as though he is being rushed as the ball comes on to you a little quicker.

    It is a tricky end for both players if you feel you are playing uphill into the win but for a lefty like Nadal playing into the sun, Cerundolo has got to try and take advantage.

    Certainly a huge game for Nadal to come through there.
