    Ryan Peniston could well be another Briton moving into the second round of the men's singles and he would be joining two-time champion Andy Murray, who secured his place in the last 64 last night.

    What an effort from Ryan Peniston. he is winning all the points that matter but he could easily have lost that set as Laaksonen was beginning to press.

    The Bulgarian had to have a medical time-out for a leg injury and it really impacted his mobility and being able to serve before he had to quit.

    Henri Laaksonen was just about to serve as a small bird made itself comfortable on the court for a closer look at the happenings on court 12. It stayed around just long enough to be awkward, but disappeared before any of the ball boys or girls had to go after it.

    By leaving, it immediately missed out in some sublime net action as the players exchanged quick-fire volleys - oh, and another break for Ryan Peniston too.

    Big couple of games ahead here for the Briton, with a two-set lead in his sights…

    What a crucial two games for Peniston. He faced break points for the first time and was able to hold on to his serve and Laaksonen will be disappointed about giving his serve away.

    What a great time to break! Some wayward hitting by Marta Kostyuk, coupled with a lucky bounce off the net and a video challenge that showed the ball was out by just a couple of blades of grass has given Katie Swan the first set.

    Great work by the Briton against the world number 76 and it was greeted by a huge roar from a packed court 18.
